RE: Acceptance Testing Results for Purity Oil Sales Superfund Site
Dear Mark:
Per your request, results of the acceptance testing for two samples collected from the foundationlayer material and one sample collected from the Golden State Market area at the Purity Oil SalesSuperfund Site are attached. Acceptance testing was performed according to the specificationsset forth in the Material and Construction Acceptance Testing sections of Table C-l of theConstruction Quality Control Plan Addendum.
On the first sample, which was collected from the source of the foundation layer material, thefollowing tests were performed for material and construction acceptance: Modified Proctoraccording to ASTM D 1557, Specific Gravity according to ASTM D 854, and Gradationaccording to ASTM D 422 and ASTM D 1140.
The second sample of the foundation layer material was collected to verify that the materialdelivered to the Site was the same as the material tested at the source, therefore gradation testingwas not required. The tests performed were Modified Proctor according to ASTM D 1557 andSpecific Gravity according to ASTM D 854.
The third sample, designated 020718-GSM-01, was collected from the Golden State Market areabefore backfilling occurred, and the following tests were performed for construction acceptance:Modified Proctor according to ASTM D 1557 and Specific Gravity according to ASTM D 854.
