The following RD provides a permanent repair for damage located in LH fuselage skin panel PIN 85310045 between frame station X24.0 - FPB and between stiffeners 9P - 12P. The repair involves cutting away the damaged area, checking for cracks and disbands (no crack or disband indications permitted), fabricating and installing an external repair doubler with a repair packer a11d re-protecting the bare areas.

General Notes
1. Cut out damaged area as shown on sheet 2 . All cut edges are to be smooth and free of nicks. Bare edges are to be touched up with Alodine and Epoxy Primer. Inspect. for cracks using eddy current (preferred method) or fluorescent penetrant dye (check both sides of skin panel). No crack indications permitted.
2. Before installation of the repair, ultrasonic inspection of the bonded skin and w,1ffle doubler is required to ensure that no disband indication is present in the repair area. If disband indication is found contact, Bombardier Aerospace Regional Aircraft before proceeding further. Ultrasonic testing is the preferred method of inspection for skin/waffle doubler disbanding. If the preferred method is impractical, or if ultrasonic test facilities are not available an alternative non-destructive inspection procedure may be used provided it is approved by an appropriate airworthiness authority and is carried out by an operator with demonstrated expertise.
3. Fabricate external repair doubler from 0.063" thk, 2024-Clad-T3, QQ-A-250/5 material. Corner radii to be 0.25 ., minimum. Form to contour. Fabricate repair packer from 0.063" thk, 2024-Clad·T3, QQ·A-250/5 material.
4. Finish all new parts with alodine and epoxy pr1mer.
5. Apply alodine and epoa<y primer in accordance with the instructions of the DASH-8 Structural Repair Manual PSM 1-83· 3, Chapter 51-20-16 and Chapter 51 -20-36 respectively.
6. Repair existing fastener countersinks remaining in skin underneath the external repair doubler in accordance with the instructions of the DASH 8 Structural Repair Manual, PSM 1-83-3, Chapter 51-10-21, page 6 or in accordance with the instructions ljsted in Generic RDB-51-134.
7. When drilling off fastener holes, in skin only, near waffle doubler edges, take cam to locate hole centers far enough from waffle doubler to provide clearance for installing rivets (0 .30" ref. for -5/ 32" diameter rivet) .
8. Maintain a minimum of 1:wo times the fastener diameter edge distance, unless otherwise specified. The edge distance is measured from the center of the fastener hole to the edge of the material and must be maintained on all material through which the fastener passes.
9. Install all fasteners wet with Pro-Seal 870C or equivalent sealant in accordance with DASH-8 Structural Repair Manual PSM 1-83-3, Chapter 51-30-26.

10. Fayseal all mating surfaces with Pro-Seal 870C or equivalent sealant in accordance with DASH-8 Structural Repair Manual PSM 1-83-3, Chapter 51-30-26.
11. Fillet seal around the t~dges of the external repair doubler and internally around the cutout with PR1422-B2 or equivalent in accordance with the instructions of the DASH-8 Structural Repair Manual PSM 1-83-3, Chapter 51-30-26.
12. Finish internal repair urea with F22 aluminized epoxy-polyamide enamel (DASH-8 Structural Repair Manual PSM 1-83-3, Chapter 51-20-41) or with F24/F37 polyurethane enamel (DASH-8 Structural Repair Manual PSM 1-83-3, Chapter 51-20-51 ). Also, apply corrosion inhibiting compound on the internal surface of the repair area such as Boeshield T9, LPS# 3 o,· Dinitrol AV25B·2 per the DASH-8 Aircraft Maintenance Manual PSM 1-83-2, Chapter 20-16-01.
