You should be starting the 3rd bookfor your Reading Lotto. Remember, you may turn the Reading Lotto forthe third trimester in early! If you do,you can start working on your Reading Lotto. As a reminder, if you decide to work on this, (AKA a Blotto) you need to fill up every square on a lotto cover page. BUT, the good news is that you do NOT have to write any book reports! Just do the reading part! And, yes, you do have to get parent signatures. Also, you may use coupons or punches (i.e. change genres). Everyone who completes a Blotto, will get to participate in an all day Read-O-Rama in June. Woo Hoo!

Reading Lotto
CAASPP TestWe will be taking the Language CAASPP test on Thursday and Friday in the morning. The students will be reading passages and answering questions about them. They will also be writing a response based on reading multiple sources. On Wednesday morning we will prepare for this by building some background knowledge about the topic. Next week the students will continue testing on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If at all possible, please do not making routine appointments, such as dentist appointments, during this time unless it is unavoidable. Also, although its not possible to study for these tests, research clearly shows that scores improve when students get plenty of sleep the night before. In addition, making sure to eat a healthy breakfast that includes protein helps students to perform at their best.
