The assignment for this week is to write a rough draft paragraph about a topic of your choice. This paragraph should cover something unique and special about your mission that you discovered while you were doing your reading. Whatever you choose, it has to be something that happened at YOUR mission. Make sure that whatever you pick, you have enough information for a full paragraph. Dont choose something that you only have 4 or 5 facts about. It cannot be a repeat of something you already wrote about. Some exciting/interesting/terrible things that happened at various missions are:

an Indian attack on the missiondisease killed all the Indianspirates attackedcruelty or kindness of a specific padreelaborate irrigation system was builtrestoring of mission/the mission today

Your choice must be approved by me before you go home. SOME partners will be permitted to write an interesting story that does not have yellow subtopics - you will need to get permission!The rough draft/Power Up/Planner is due Friday.(This is YOUR LAST paragraph! Hooray!)

Did you check out the different types of displays on the website? Just a simple box works. Or you can use a shadow box, a briefcase, or even a flat tray. The display can be very simple, but extra effort will earn you extra credit points. Also, dont forget that you have to type up the sentence labels for each artifact. Make sure to glue or velcro down every artifact. Also, make sure you include your name! You will be bringing your finished display to school on Tuesday, April 7th.

Pioneer ProjectsYou should have decided on your pioneer project last week. Time will be provided in class this week for everyone to work on it. It needs to be done by Tuesday, April 7.

CAASPP TestingThe scheduled testing for 4th grade has been finalized. Room 10 fourth graders will do the in-class practice tests on April 21 and 22. The English CAASPP will be given on April 30, May 1, and May 4. The Math CAASPP will be given on May 5 and 6. Please consider these dates when planning dental appointments etc. An at-home practice is available at: http://caaspp.org/practice-and-training/index.html. Just choose the Student Interface option (see graphic) and sign in as guest. This is NOT required but you may find it helpful and informative.
