Page 3: Love unconditionally

Love at Work?

Page 4: Love unconditionally

If we live in God, we must live in LOVE.

We are to show friendship love through our attitudes and actions, even to those we have not personally chosen as our friends.

- means loving “at all times”.

“All times” includes during your set-aside private time, in the middle of the night, or when you’re tired or feeling very needy yourself, as well as when the other person being lovable, even when she or he is grumpy or has been taking advantage of you.

CHARACTERISTICS OF

LOVE

Page 7: Love unconditionally

Unconditional love gives you the power to speak gentle words that heal.Kindness is something you can give to someone who is discouraged.

Page 8: Love unconditionally

Unconditional love helps you avoid quick, defensive reactions.

It gives you the power to control your hot temper.

It does not say that love is never angered, just that it is not easily angered.

Page 9: Love unconditionally

Unconditional love does a lot of “erase disk” procedures, continually choosing to remove from the memory bank those wrongs done.

Page 10: Love unconditionally

It takes away our drive for revenge and leaves the revenge for God to handle.

He tells us that revenge is his and he will repay (Romans 12:19)

They are God’s responsibility, and he is far better at handling them than we are!

This kind of love keeps you from spreading gossip.

It eliminates the malicious talk that is so easy to participate in, especially when it is a common occurrence where you work.

This love will make you seek the truth instead of believing everything you hear.

Indications of One-Sided Work Relationship

• Your co-worker asks favors of you but is never willing to do anything for you.

• Your boss expects you to be available on short notice for overtime, extra work, and weekend work, but when you occasionally ask for some time off for needed personal business, he acts as though you are being unreasonable.

Page 14: Love unconditionally

• Your friend bends your ear with every detail of her struggles at work but never has any interest in your job or struggles.

• Your co-worker lets you pick up the tab for coffee, doughnuts, lunch, etc., but has never once offered to pay for yours.

Unconditional love is not enabling love

An enabler is one who allows a person to take advantage of him/her, refuses to confront appropriately, and thereby allows that person to prolong his/her poor behavior and reinforces his/her bad habits.
