    Backstage

The entire company strikes a tableau, to thunderous applause. Then, as they break pose and run off, the stage revolves again so that we're backstage. Upstage, we see GANGLE still addressing the audience ...

GANGLE: Ladies and Gentlemen, Miss Meg Giry, the Ooh La La Girl! Five shows daily, only here at Phantasma. We begin to cross fade to MEG, backstage.

And now, the aerial exoticism of the fabulous Miss Fleck - half bird, half woman, all for only 10 cents a ticket...

In the corridor backstage, showgirls and freaks rush back and forth, finding their places for the upcoming peiformances. MADAME GIRY enters. She is clearly in charge: a stony, commanding presence.
