RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE SUPPLY OF ELECTRIC SERVICE

Underground Service Rules

1. With the exception o f the downtown section of the City of Louisvil le lesignated by City ordinance as an underground d i s t r i c t , Company's dis t r ibu- tion system i s generally designed as an overhead system. All extensions o f service w i l l be made through the use of overhead f a c i l i t i e s except as provided in these rules.

2. Within the aforesaid City of Louisville underground d i s t r i c t o r i n those cases where Company's engineering o r operating convenience requires the construction of an underground extension, the excess of the cost of an inderground extension over t ha t of an overhead extension will be financed by the Company.

3 . In cases other than those specified i n Paragraph 2 above, where the xstomer requests and Company agrees t o supply underground service t o an individual premise, the customer sha l l pay t o Company the excess, as estimated ?y the Company, of the cost of the underground extension (including a l l associated f a c i l i t i e s ) over the cost of an overhead extension of equivalent zapacity, which payment will not be subject t o refund.

4. I n case underground service i s requested throughout an en t i re t r a c t 3r subdivision and Company agrees t o supply such service, the i n i t i a l owner, cleveloper or t rustees of such t r a c t o r subdivision, o r other person having authority t o contract on behalf of t he owners of the individual premises therein, s h a l l pay t o Company the excess, as estimated by the Company, of the cost of the underground extension (including a l l associated f a c i l i t i e s ) over the cost o f an overhead extension of equivalent capacity, which payment w i l l not be subject t o refund. ground and overhead costs i n each individual case, the Company may prescribe unit charges based on the average difference i n cost as determined by experience.
