Louis Sebastian Theroux

Louis Theroux was born on May 20th 1970 and is an English documentary filmmaker and broadcaster. He is best known for his documentary series, including Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, and one of his most famous ‘When Louis Met…’ which he filmed from 2000-2002. He has also made a mumber of specials for BBC Two, such as: Louis and the Brothel and his most recent project (finished filming) Transgender Kids which was filmed around April 2015 which follows children who have or what to have a gender change and what it is like to go through this.

He made many documentaries following all four of the main documentary modes: Participatory, Expository, Observational and Reflexive. Whilst also observing his documentaries, I noticed he uses direct cinema, the act of what is shown is represented truthfully.
