We are calling our 5th Annual Online sale “Dare to be different sale”. The reason why is simple, the format is a different format to buy your bulls. There is no sale order. All Lots remain open until there is a 5 minute lapse in bidding after the scheduled 8 pm closing time. The advantage to the buyer is if your first selection sells above your budget you can move your bids to any of the other bulls. At a traditional auction you are left scrambling to find a suitable bull if your #1 bull sells over your budget and your #2 choice has been sold earlier in the sales order.

Secondly, there is no commissioned sales team pressuring you to hurry up and bid. The buyer knows when they are top bidder and when they have been outbid. This creates a more relaxed way to achieve the fair market value for our bulls. Last year the sale closed at 8:25 pm. If you have any questions regarding the bidding give me a call and I would be happy to assist.

As I finalize the information for this year’s offering, we have just received maybe the most snow in a 24 hour period that I can recall. It has made for difficult days of chores. But it has lifted my spirits immensely as I now believe the dugouts have a good chance of filling with a spring runoff. The bulls are looking great. They are receiving 5 lbs of pellets twice daily and have access to a pea/barley silage mixed with 10-15% alfalfa. Videos and pictures of the bulls can be viewed on www.dvauction.com. A current weight and breeding soundness evaluation of the bulls will be done at the end of March.

Settlement of the bulls will be handled by Hi Low Angus. We will do our utmost to care for your purchase, but insuring is encouraged. Delivery of the bulls will begin mid April and is free within 300 km. We will be happy to arrange other deliveries at cost. For animals needing to stay after May 1st there will be a $3/head/day fee. Animals sell under the suggested terms and conditions of the Canadian Angus Association.
