way you feel!
Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’ve been making a lot of effort to improve
your food diet. There’s an easy way to make sure that you’re getting maximum
effect from your diet that doesn’t take too much effort – and that’s to switch out
about half of the drinks you go through in a day with pure water.
We’re not saying that you should never drink a nice coffee or have a cocktail at
the weekend! If you chain-‐drink coffee throughout the day, or end your day with
a few alcoholic drinks most days, or sip soft drinks throughout the day, this
water detox is for you.
It really is as simple as replacing other drinks with water.
As great for you as water is, a lot of people find it a little lacking. Fortunately, we
at Spring-‐Clear.co.uk are here to help you – we’ve got a couple of tips you can use
to trick yourself into getting as much pure water as you need.
Making Water More Appealing
It’s often difficult to make a glass of water
seem as attractive as cold lemonade, but
there are ways to do so. Make sure you keep
a lot of ice in your freezer as this can
instantly make a glass of water seem more
refreshing. Another way to get the most out
of a glass of water is by using slices of fresh
fruit; dropping a wedge of lime, lemon or
orange into a glass of iced water is a
fantastically healthy alternative to soft
drinks which tastes at least as good and
refreshes you just as well.
Getting More
If you’re in an area with particularly hard water, or you’re served by a water
processing plant that has to use noticeable amounts of chlorine to sterilise the
water in your area, you might find the water that comes from your taps
unappealing. If this is the case, then you should consider filtering your water –
it’ll remove any unpleasant smells or tastes, any residue, and leave you with a
beautiful glass of water much closer to mineral water – something you’d be
served in a nice restaurant.
Don’t Go Crazy!
As with anything to do with health, it’s important not to go overboard -‐
everything in moderation. It’s likely that if you replace all of your daily drinks
with fresh water, you’ll last a week, and then give into a craving for coffee or a
glass of wine or beer – and then consider your efforts ruined. It’s much more
effective to give yourself reasonable goals you’re sure you can stick to. If you’re
an avid coffee drinker, consider replacing half of your coffees with fresh water –
adjusting if you start to find doing so difficult – or easy!
When you’re on a night out, think about matching every alcoholic drink with a
glass of water. Some people feel a little shy doing this – if you do, all you have to
do is tell your friends that you’re doing so to prevent a hangover. This is actually
true – drinking water throughout a night out makes for a much easier morning
after!
Good luck!
We really hope this has given you something to think about and you’ll give the
water diet a go – it is a really simple way to help you look and feel much better!
