1.
2. WIN THE SERIES!: The first-place Dodgers conclude their
seven-game trip to St. Louis (1-2) and Colorado (2-1) with the
finale of their four-game set at Coors Field. Following tonight’s
game, the Dodgers will return to Los Angeles for a seven-game
homestand against the Cardinals (4 G) and Diamondbacks (3 G).
Los Angeles has the NL’s second-best winning
percentage at .596, behind only St. Louis (.654, 34-18),
and of the Dodgers’ 31 wins, 15 have been comeback
victories.
The Dodgers have a 10-4-2 series record, including a 2-4-
1 mark on the road.
Ian Thomas, the 26th man for yesterday’s doubleheader,
has returned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
GETTING OFFENSIVE: With five home runs yesterday, including
a season high-tying four in the second game (fourth time), the Dodgers
once again lead the Majors with 73 home runs, two more than the
Astros (71). The club is on pace to set a Los Angeles record with its
Major League-leading .452 slugging percentage, while also topping
the big leagues with a .339 on-base percentage.
Dodger hitters have posted a .285/.379/.495 slashline with 32
doubles, two triples and 15 home runs in 11 games against
the Rockies, while averaging 5.5 runs per game (66 R).
WE NEED A GUE-HERO!: Down to their last strike in the second
game of yesterday’s doubleheader, Alex Guerrero powered the
Dodgers to victory with a two-out, ninth-inning grand slam, turning an
8-5 deficit into a 9-8 lead. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it was
the first time in franchise history that a Dodger hit a grand slam when
trailing by exactly three runs in the ninth inning or later. The last MLB
player to hit a go-ahead grand slam down three runs and with two
strikes in the ninth inning was Baltimore’s Chris Hoiles on May 17,
1996 vs. Seattle.
According to Elias, it was the sixth go-ahead grand slam by a
Dodger with two outs in the ninth inning or later since the
club moved to Los Angeles in 1958:
Date Player INN/Result

Just 53 games into the season, Guerrero and Pederson have
already become the first set of Dodger rookie teammates
with double-digit home runs since Andre Ethier (11) and
Russell Martin (10) in 2006.
ON THE HILL: Mike Bolsinger suffered his first loss of the season
in his last start, Friday at St. Louis, despite allowing just two runs in
6.0 innings. Bolsinger finished the month of May with a 3-1 record in
four starts and the third-lowest ERA in the Majors:
MLB May ERA Leaders (min. 25.0 IP)
1. Shelby Miller, ATL 0.95
2. Zack Greinke, LAD 1.05 (4 ER/34.1 IP)
3. Mike Bolsinger, LAD 1.05 (3 ER/25.2 IP)
4. Ryan Vogelsong, SF 1.14
5. Kyle Gibson, MIN 1.36
Kenley Jansen allowed his first hit of the season last night
(1-for-20, .050), but struck out two in a scoreless ninth for
his sixth save. Jansen, who will celebrate his bobblehead
night tomorrow at Dodger Stadium, has fired 6.0 scoreless
innings this year and has not allowed a run in his last 15
appearances (15.0 IP) dating to Sept. 5, 2014.
JOC JAMS!: Joc Pederson went deep in both games yesterday and
has homered in four consecutive games (with a plate appearance) for
the second time in his career, also doing so April 27-May 1. Prior to
Pederson, the last Dodger rookie to homer in four consecutive games
was Bill Sudakis, Aug. 15-19, 1969. According to the Elias Sports
Bureau, Pederson is just the second player in the modern era to post
multiple four-game homer streaks in his rookie campaign, joining
Minnesota’s Jimmie Hall, who accomplished the feat in 1963. His 16
home runs are the most ever by a Dodger through the first 70 games of
their career and in addition to home runs (16, T-2nd
NL), Pederson also
ranks among the NL’s best in on-base percentage (.383, 14th), walks
(34, 3rd
) and slugging percentage (.588, 5th).
While home run distance estimates vary, according to ESPN
Stats & Info, Pederson’s third-inning home run off David
Hale in the second game of yesterday’s doubleheader
traveled 480 feet, making it the longest homer in the Majors
this year. Pederson also tops the Majors in average home run
distance (min. 8 HR):

GOING GONZO: Adrian Gonzalez blasted his 11th home run of the
season in yesterday’s nightcap and has posted a .390/.469/.783
slashline in 11 games against the Rockies this year, going 16-for-41
with nine doubles, a homer and 14 RBI. He has a .297 batting average
in 142 career games against the Rockies and leads active players with
159 hits and 116 RBI vs. Colorado, while tying for second with
Adrian Beltre with 26 home runs, behind only Matt Kemp (30).
Overall, Gonzalez leads the Majors with 19 doubles and
ranks among the NL’s best in runs (35), home runs (11, 9th),
batting average (.332, 4th), on-base percentage (.411, 5
th),
slugging percentage (.610, 3rd
).
Gonzalez is batting .371 (13-for-35) with runners in scoring
position and is one of four Dodgers hitting over .300 with
RISP, joining Yasmani Grandal (.393, 11-for-28), Howie
Kendrick (.356, 16-for-45) and Justin Turner (.323, 10-
for-31).
