This one-of-a-kind architectural masterpiece surrounded by towering trees and the gardens of Azalea Park
was constructed of native wood and red stone with a slate floor in 2009. With views of the Pacific Ocean,
Chetco River and Harbor, this building was built and donated to the City as a sanctuary for those in search of solace
and quiet meditation by famed film producer, Elmo Williams as a memorial
to his late wife, Lorraine Williams.
Capella Friends
With the help of volunteers, the Capella is open from May to
October during daylight hours to enjoy the peace and serenity it
was meant to bring. If you would like to volunteer,
please call 469-1103.
“This is a memorial to my wife,
Lorraine, who taught us that life is a marvelous gift — one that must be

serenity of her spirit and find peace.”
….Elmo Williams
