SCENARIO 1: CONTROL THE BATTLEFIELD *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP ***

LAYOUT The tables will use preset terrain features that should not be moved during set up and game play. There should be a hill in the center of the table; this hill will count as a rolling hill (open terrain). The battlefield is dominated by 4 objectives that must be captured and held against the enemy. Objective markers should be placed in the center of each table quarter.

STARTING POSITIONS Both players roll a D6 – the player with the highest result chooses one of the deployment zones, and the other player gets the opposite. Deployment zones are within 12” of a table edge. He then selects a warband in his force and rolls a D6, this roll may not be adjusted by Might. On a score of 1, all models from that warband must be deployed in the deployment zone and within 12” of the left edge of the board. On a score of 2, all models from that warband must be deployed in the deployment zone and within 12” of the right board edge. On a score of 3-5, all models from that warband must be deployed in the deployment zone and further than 12” from either side board edge. On a score of 6, all models from that warband can be deployed anywhere in the deployment zone. Regardless of the dice roll, no model can be deployed further than 6” from the captain of its warband.

When this has been done, the opposing player chooses one of his warbands and rolls to place it as described above. Players then alternate until all warbands have been placed.

INITIAL PRIORITY Both players roll a D6. The player with the highest score has priority in the first turn.

OBJECTIVES To achieve victory, a player must control the hill and objectives. To control the hill, whichever force has more models on the hill will control it. To control the objectives, the force with more models within 3” will control the objective.

Once either force has been Broken, the game will last an additional D3+1 turns.

Major Victory/Defeat

Your force controls the hill, and more objectives than your opponent’s force.

Minor Victory/Defeat

Your force controls the hill, but you do not control more objectives than your opponent’s force.

Draw Any result other than those listed above.

BONUS OBJECTIVES Determine which level of Bonus Objectives that your force achieved.

0 points Neither your Leader, hero or a banner is on the central hill.

1 point A model from your force with a banner, or a hero is on the central hill.

3 points Your Leader is on the central hill. 5 points Both your Leader and a banner, or hero

from your force in on the central hill.

NOTE: For what constitutes a banner, use the FAQ for the scenario To The Death!

SCENARIO 2: IN THE GLOOM OF MOUNT DOOM *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP ***

LAYOUT The tables will use preset terrain features that should not be moved during set up and game play. There are 4 items on the battlefield that must be picked up and controlled. Item markers should be placed in the center of each table quarter.

STARTING POSITIONS Both players roll a D6 – the player with the highest result chooses one of the deployment zones, and the opponent gets the opposite. Deployment zones are within 6” of a table edge. He then selects a warband in his force and deploys it anywhere in the deployment zone and within 6" of the captain of that warband.

When this has been done, the opposing player chooses one of his warbands and places it as described above. Players then alternate until all warbands have been placed.

INITIAL PRIORITY Both players roll a D6. The player with the highest score has priority in the first turn.

SPECIAL RULES Due to the darkness spreading from Mount Doom, sight is limited to 12”. Therefore, shooting attacks and spells are limited to a range of 12”, but the decreased reaction time gives shooting attacks a +1 to Wound.

OBJECTIVES Both forces are trying get passed enemy lines. Keep track of each model that leaves the board via the enemy’s deployment edge.

There are 4 buried items on the battlefield. These are light objects. At the end of the Move Phase, an unengaged model may attempt to dig up the item. Roll a D6, on a 4+ that model controls the item. Might may be used to adjust this roll. Only one model per force may attempt to dig per turn. Once an item has been dug up, it will not have to be dug up again. The items are number 1-4. At the end of the game roll 2D4, reroll same result, these two numbers are the real items that your force was searching for. These objects may not be taken off of the board. If the model carrying the object is removed from play, the object is dropped where the model was, and if the model was killed in combat, the model that caused the final wound may pick up the item immediately.

The game lasts until the end of a turn in which one force has been reduced to a quarter (25%) of its starting number of models, or below. Models that leave the enemy board edge will count as dead for determining if the game ends, but they will count as remaining for determining if the force is Broken.

Major Victory/Defeat

More of your models made it off your opponent’s board edge, and you control both of the real items..

Minor Victory/Defeat

More of your models made it off your opponent’s board edge, but you don’t control both real items.

Draw Any result other than those listed above.

BONUS OBJECTIVES Keep track of Wounds caused by your Leader. Determine which level of Bonus Objectives that your force achieved.

0 points Your Leader did not cause any Wounds 1 point Your Leader caused 1 wound, but less than

your opponent’s Leader. 3 points Your Leader caused more Wounds than

your opponent’s Leader. 5 points Your Leader caused more than double the

number of Wounds than your opponent’s Leader.
