Siddarth will graduate from University of Florida with a MS in Chemical Engineering in April, and has been one of our best graduate students. This was recognized by him being the recipient of an Outstanding Student Award. He received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Panjab University in 2014 and has a very strong record of work experience and internships. As a process engineer at Sun Pharma Ltd. in India in 2014/2015, he modified the manufacturing process of molecules such as Rifaximin and DMF to meet the quality standards laid down by FDA and implemented Quality by Design (QBD) approach by analysing data obtained from TGA, DSC, FBRM, PVM, Automated Lab Reactors and Distillation Columns. Last year, he took practical training courses in our nanofabrication facility and learned how to fabricate and characterize Si transistors. He was trained in lithography, etching, metal deposition, as well as device testing. He is also well acquainted with design-of-experiment and the most popular software packages such as MATLAB and AutoCAD. Siddarth has taken two of my graduate semiconductor classes (Semiconductor Processing/Synthesis of Electronic Materials) at University of Florida in the 2016-2017 academic year and received “A” in the class completed to date. He was well-prepared for every lecture, showed interest in the subjects and never missed a lecture. Siddarth also did an internship with Duke Energy last summer, working in the emission testing operations unit at the Crystal River Power Station. During that period he received certifications in Six Sigma Green Belt, project and supply chain management, as well as safety, lab and waste management. He has consistently demonstrated an ability to synthesize new information and contribute in both a team and individual environment. Siddarth is mature, well-prepared and is very motivated and knowledgeable. He has an excellent background in chemical engineering and the energy, semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. I expect him to do extremely well in industry and believe he has the characteristics of a very successful young engineer. Sincerely S.J.
