One-Stop Career Centers can help you:

• Strengthen your job-search skills

Workshops at Jersey Job Clubs teach ways to improve your job-seeking strategy. Learn effective interviewing techniques and how to write a resume that gets results. Meet new people and build relationships that could lead to employment.

• Get training

People who meet certain requirements may be eligible for on-the-job training, training grants, or tuition waivers for education. These opportunities usually apply to jobs in high-demand fields or occupations.

• Use labor market information to make career decisions

A career counselor can show you how to find labor market information online — such as which jobs are in demand in which counties, what’s the typical pay for certain kinds of jobs, and more.

Do you have a disability? You can receive vocational counseling, supported employment, evaluations and restorations, financial assessments and planning, job accomodations/equipment and vehicle modifications, training opportunities, interpretation services and small business funding which can help you find employment that suits your abilities and interests.

Are you a military veteran or spouse? Our veterans’ representatives specialize in helping former U.S. military veterans and their spouses receive all the services they are due. Veterans receive first priority referral to all job and training opportunities in which they qualify. Get help understanding the array of benefits available through the Veterans Administration and state and local government agencies.

Are you a mature worker? WorkForce 55+ helps low-income New Jerseyans aged 55 and older achieve economic independence and control of their futures. Return to the workforce through this “earn while you learn” program where participants receive counseling, assessments, and training to obtain employment.

Are you an ex-offender? If your past is keeping you from getting a job, ask a career counselor for more information regarding employment referrals, help removing barriers to employment, Workforce Learning Link resources, additional programs to help your obtain employment, or other employment information or assistance.
