NEPEAN Longwall partners with its customers to design,engineer, integrate and support longwall equipment andsystems. Located in Queensland & New South Wales,NEPEAN Longwall offers the full suite of after sales servicesenabling it to support products throughout their life cycle.

The experienced, committed and motivated team at NEPEANLongwall have demonstrated their capability over many yearsto deliver longwall equipment and system solutions.

NEPEAN Longwall’s corporate headquarters is located inMackay, Queensland. This purpose-built facility providescomprehensive after sales service and support to the region’scustomers.

In the Hunter Valley of NSW NEPEAN Longwall have justmoved back into their major facility in Rutherford in May 2020.This facility was vacated after the industry downturn in 2014and it is an indication of the growth in NSW that this largefacility is now open again.

In the Illawarra / South Coast region, Nepean Longwalloperates out of the NEPEAN Engineering and Innovationfactory site at Narellan and the NEPEAN Mining facility atUnanderra near Wollongong. As well as being the majorshareholder in NEPEAN Longwall, NEPEAN Engineering isalso NEPEAN Longwall’s strategic manufacturing partner forits products that are produced in Australia.

• The business moved to this site in2001 as Inbye Mining Services

• In 2004 business growth allowedpurchase of 5 acres of adjacent land

• In 2010 the main workshop wasdoubled in size and new corporateoffices were constructed.

• NEPEAN Engineering at Narellan is astrong partner in manufacturing andoverhaul who assists NEPEANLongwall and extends our capabilityto support the southern NSW coalmines.

NEPEAN Longwall has been an longwallOriginal Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)since 2001. Through the design andmanufacture of many sets of AFC andBSL kit the engineering team has refinedthe core product designs which haveproved to be reliable and long lasting inthe toughest mining conditions.

Component Repairs

Hydraulic, Valve and Electronic repairs.Our Mackay workshop includes ahydraulic clean test room for theoverhaul and service of electro-hydrauliccomponents. We hold certification forthe overhaul of certain OEM electro-hydraulic control products.

Gearbox repair and overhaul - OurMackay head office has a specialisedgearbox shop with experiencedpersonnel who can undertake AFC, BSLand Crusher gearbox overhauls as wellas gearboxes from ancillary equipment.

Service

NEPEAN Longwall’s service teamsprovide on call and routine support for allour equipment in the field. Together withinput from our Engineering departmentthey provide Life Cycle Managementreports and recommendations to makesure our equipment performs to bothNEPEAN Longwall’s and our customers’expectations and requirements.

Our service team also offers training tomeet your mine site requirements whichmay include hydraulic training, electro-hydraulic control systems, maintenancetraining and operator training. Some ofour customers draw on these services toprovide refresher training to crews priorto longwall relocations or installations.

Ater Sales Service and Overhaul

Project Management

NEPEAN Longwall maintains a strongProject Management team that willprofessionally manage all aspects ofyour longwall project. Each large projecthas NEPEAN group oversight of theKPI’s which are reported and reviewedmonthly. Open communication with thecustomer and internal/external suppliersensures nothing is missed.

When managing projects in ChinaNEPEAN Asia provides engineering,project management, procurement andsupervision. Their work provides highquality communication andinterpretation of requirements.Comprehensive quality systems havebeen developed to assist our Chinesesuppliers, with all paperwork in duallanguage. During these projects aNEPEAN Asia representative isembedded in the supplier facilitiessupported with regular visits byNEPEAN Longwall from Australia.Quality is maintained and any issuesthat arise are quarantined andaddressed with urgency.

Overhaul

Refurbishment and overhaul of allNEPEAN, JOY and CAT face equipmentvia flexible overhaul model. Ourworkshops in QLD and NSW arepurpose built for the overhaul of longwallequipment with enough lay-down area tohandle the largest projects. Welldeveloped project management toolsand techniques ensure that we meet themost sophisticated reportingrequirements and our team ofexperienced staff ensures thatequipment is repaired to exactingstandards that will provide ongoingequipment longevity.

During overhaul, customers frequentlyhave requirements for modifying theirequipment based on operationalimperatives. Nepean Longwall canassist you with the execution of theseimprovements and provide theengineering support to ensure theequipment achieves safe and reliableoperation.
