This class will cover the 9 patch, on point, “scrappy doll‐ ‐quilt” made from Civil War reproduction fabric.Please bring fabric scissors and a thimble (if you use one). DESCRIPTION: Hand embroider romantic floral vines andflowers across crazy patchwork in a magical and picturesqueway. Your class kit includes a crazy quilt silk block already sewnfor you so you can immerse yourself in sewing and embellishingthe seams!We will create precise antique ribbon rosettes of the 1920s on aleafy vine with sugar beading. Silk ribbons will be fashioned into

romantic frilly flowers. The favorite Roses N Bows seam finishcan frame a fabric picture or adorn a seam. We will layer ribbon,

thread and stitches for a lattice heart of rosebuds, make pines ofEstaz thread and snowflakes of Sparkles diamond like thread.

French velvet ric rac will round out your crazy adventure withclassic layered crazy quilt stitches and a spider web as time

permits. These are easy techniques with intriguing visual resultsso we can accomplish and learn a lot in our time together.

Your $25 class kit includes a crazy patched block on a muslin foundation fabric, needlesMilliner’s 9, chenille 18, 20, 22 and 24, 4 and 7 mm silk ribbons, assorted threads of

metallic, perle cotton and floss, French velvet ric rac, beads, instructions and amechanical pencil.

Students should bring: 7-inch and 5-inch embroidery hoop, polyester (cotton if desired)thread in light, medium and dark colors. Basic Sewing Supplies (BSS) including small

sharp embroidery scissors, fabric and paper scissors, an awl or other handy tool formaneuvering ribbons, pins, chalk marker, measure and embroidery and thread needle

threaders. Definitely bring extra lighting and magnification. (Supplies to bring are alsoavailable for sale from the teacher in class). No sewing machine is required.
