Planning for the Transition from Preschool Special Education to Kindergarten Thursday, July 9 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm This workshop will help caregivers understand the transition process, to be an active member of the transition team, to understand the difference between services in CPSE and CSE, and to understand the purpose of an IEP. Function Based Thinking for Preschool, Parts 1 and 2 Tuesday, July 21 and Wednesday, July 22 - 11:00am to 1:00pm Please join us for a two-day “Lunch and Learn” training on understanding and engaging with the function-based thinking process to promote early intervention and prevent unwanted behaviors from developing in preschoolers. Positive Behavior Supports for Home, School, and Community Tuesday, July 28 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm Please join us for an introductory training on positive behavior supports in the classroom, home, and community. Participants will learn strategies to prevent and respond to challenging behaviors. Explicit Vocabulary Instruction for Parents Wednesday, July 29 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm Please join us to learn how to foster vocabulary development. Caregivers of preschool-age children will learn about vocabulary instruction at home. Other participants are welcome to join in consideration of building home-school connections. Planning for the Transition from Early Intervention to Preschool Special Education Wednesday, August 12 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm This workshop will help guide caregivers through the process of transitioning their child from Early Intervention to the Committee on Preschool Special Education.
