LOGSTOR’s first order to world leading constructor of LNG facilities

[ We document the difference ]

Pampas Melchorita, Peru

In 2007 LOGSTOR was contracted to deliver a complete pre-insulated pipe system for new LNG plant in Peru.

The LNG plant will be a single train facility with a capacity of 4.4 million metric tons a year. It will be able to carry out the functions of receiving feed gas, liquid separation, gas metering and pressure reduction, removal of carbon dioxide and water from the feed gas. The equipment and utilities will include gas dehydration and carbon absorption units, facilities for refrigeration and liquefaction, LNG and refrigerant storage.

The pre-insulated loading lines will operate at a temperature of –163°C and transfer liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the storage tanks to the ship jetty. Construction started in mid 2007 with completion projected for 2009–2010.

Our client has purchased stainless steel pipes from manufacturers in Europe and shipped them to LOGSTOR’s plant in Denmark to be insulated. The pipes will then be shipped directly to the LNG project site – ready to link up, and with all the required bends, joints and supports within a very short time frame.

The site for the liquefaction facility Pampa Melchorita is situated in the province of Cañete south of Lima. It is located only 30 km from the centre of a recent earthquake in an area which has a subtropical desert climate, characterized as extremely dry with very low levels of precipitation year round.

Pre-insulated pipe systems from LOGSTOR – the ultimate solution for LNG / LEG / LPG vessels and terminals

Pre-insulation means reduced manufacturing time and installation costs. All pipes arrive on site insulated. This is because they have been insulated in a controlled factory environment so that insulation properties become uniform and capable of withstanding the extreme requirements of LNG applications. One of the advantages of using pre-insulated pipes instead of traditionally insulated ones is that the time-consuming and expensive process of on-site insulation is then greatly reduced if not totally unnecessary. LOGSTOR’s second order to world leading constructor of LNG facilities

[ We document the difference ]

In 2007 LOGSTOR was contracted to deliver a complete pre-insulated pipe system for new LNG import terminal in Chile.

The regasification plant includes two 160,000 cubic meters LNG storage tanks and will have aninitialsend-outcapacityof340MMSCFDonasustainablebasisand510MMSCFDona peaking basis, meeting approximately 40% of the country’s demand for natural gas.

The pre-insulated loading lines will operate at a temperature of -163°C and transfer liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the storage tanks to the ship jetty.

The LNG import terminal is located in QuinteroBay,110kilometersfromSantiago.

Another advantage is that the installation of the system is extremely fast, and once it is installed there is no need of further maintenance.
