Logo Research By Paige marsh

What did we do To design a logo for the media production company, we decided that we should all go away and produce 3 logos that we could think of. From a previous group meeting we had already decided on the name which would be ‘Relive’ followed by media production company. This adds authenticity to the films production and exhibition. Doing 3 each gave us a wider range to choose from and also develop each logo selected.

After the group come back together with 3 designs each, we decided on our favorite one or which ever we thought would stand out, we also asked if any edits would occur to the selected design that we thought were necessary.

Josh Designs 1.) This design was interesting and produced an abstract look with the different gradients, however it looks more like an environmental company than film.

2.) The design offers a contemporary look and has easy to read writing, but doesn’t relate to a film production company as much as it should .

3.) This design has a nice use of lettering and has produced a simplistic look, although the lettering is different I think that the L stands out to much and so people could read it as re-Live , as if to be live on a news channel.

Abi Designs 1.) The first design is clearly related to film due to being a filming camera, but the writing doesn’t look like it has a place and so the logo looks busy.

2.) This design also has a link to the film industry, consequently because this is a popular theme to film, there are many logos that have a similar design.

3.) This abstract design looks more like a arts and craft logo, due to it looking like a paint splash.

Paige Designs 1.) This company logo provides large lettering that people would find easy to remember, although there is no indication to film and so could be mistaken for a business logo.

2.) This logo has a great design and some reference to film with the film strip surrounding the name. But I think the writing underneath is hard to read.

3.) The next logo makes the writing hard to read and even though a reference is made to a media, the camera looks more like a photography logo compared to a film logo.

Selected logo This is the selected logo due to it being the favourite and most practical. The logo has a professional look that makes it more authentic.

We decided on this logo as the edits that need to be made are minimal and can easily make a reference to a film company. We also have the idea to incorporate one of the other logo ideas into this logo so it easier to make any edits, as an idea is already available.

The Edits Changing the colour of the dot so it is able to stand out more.

Adding the look of a film strip so that a reference to film is being made, this is taken from this previous idea.

Also changing the colour of the writing to match the dot makes the logo more colourful and the writing stand out.

These edits will make the logo make more reference to a film company and stand out. I haven’t come across many logos like this one from within the film industry, however I think the logo has taken inspiration from the Warner Brothers company logo in which it consists of larger lettering and then explicit text, explaining the larger letters, although Warner Brothers text goes directly across and underneath there letters.
