Good Day,

Advocate Health Care has transitioned its IRB to an electronic system (IRBNet) and you must register to access

IRB services and submission forms. No hard copy or emailed submission materials will be accepted going

forward.

All primary submission documents (e.g. application, revised 503, protocol template, delegation logs, etc.) are

now located within the IRBNet library. The previous hard copy forms (211, 226, 503) are no longer required and

will not be accepted. Ancillary documents used during preparation of an IRB submission are still available on the

AHC IRB web site under IRB Submission Forms and SOPs (e.g. the HRP-400 series, short-form consents).

Below you will find the action items, followed by relevant information on the transition. The pages following are

screen shots illustrating the Registration steps.

ACTION ITEMS:

1. Register your AHC electronic IRB account at www.IRBnet.org. If you have an IRBNet account from

another institution you should affiliate that account with the Advocate Health Care Network under the

User Profile option within the system.

a. NOTE:

i. ~5 minutes to register using the attached PDF Registration guide.

ii. Username convention: [firstname].[lastname]

(ex: John.Smith)

iii. Affiliate with Institution: Advocate Health Care Network

iv. Don’t forget to Activate your account by clicking on the link sent to your email after

registration. Registration is not effected until you confirm with that link.

resources linked below to see and explore the system.

2. Familiarize yourself with IRBnet using the self-training resources.

eIRB overview The Advocate Institutional Review Board has converted to a completely electronic IRB submission system called IRBNet which went live January 2nd. The IRBNet system allows simultaneous access to documents by Principal Investigators, the study primary coordinator and associate investigators that are invited by the PI/coordinator, as well as the IRB. “Pass-through” reviews intended for WIRB as the IRB of Record will also be handled within the program. Sign-offs by Department Chairs, local review committees (PRCs) and Research Support Departments will be collected within the system.
