- Kindy Conversations Training is booked in to happen in late September and early October, with the invite extended to community members as well as professionals who work with children.

- Planning is currently underway to deliver two additional Kindy Conversation Training sessions in September and early October. These training sessions are being opened up to suitable community representatives who are interested in facilitating conversations with parents/caregivers using the Family Kindy Guide, as well as local service providers. The aim is for 500 conversations to be undertaken with parents/caregivers in 2019.

KINDY SCHOLARSHIPS

On Track

- Parent engagement is underway, identifying children and families eligible for the scholarships, with overwhelming positive response by service providers, C&K and families connected with the project.

- 24 children whose families face a financial burden and have a Health Care Card have been placed on the kindergarten waitlist for 2020. Not all of these children will be offered places at C&K centres due to a lack of available places. Other high-quality kindergartens will be identified.

STRONGER PARENTING CAMPAIGN

On Track

Strategy: - The brand strategy and overarching campaign strategy is well

developed, with a roadmap of actual and proposed activity, linked to the ages and stages of the Logan Together roadmap, also in development.

- A two-day invitation-only workshop with FrameWorks and the Parenting Research Centre on ‘effective parent engagement’ will inform this strategy.

Partnership: - Given the amount of work in the Great Start in Life lifestage across

Logan by multiple partners, a ‘Health Collaboration Communication Group’ has been formed and meets every 4-6 months. Membership of this group includes PHN, CHQ, Metro South Health and the Logan Together Backbone Team and together we seek to align, amplify and strengthen parent facing engagement through collaboration.

Activity: - We are supporting partners with their work, using the Early Years

brand, insight and other resources, to increase cut through and engagement with partners (ie, TOTS, PHN health literacy campaign).

- The Enrol for Prep 2020 campaign has been enhanced (refer to Project update)

- A tour of the maternity hubs identified a number of high impact-low effort activities, including the translation of maternity messages for target populations. This is being progressed.
