Interfacing: 1 Square 46.5 x 46.5 cm

Sewing instructions: Note: All measurements include a seam allowance of 0.75 cm unless otherwise indicated.

Cushion Front:Attach the strips to the centre square round for round as shown in the diagram. For the last two rounds, centre each strip on the preceding strip. Finally attach a triangle to each corner, again centering the long side of the triangle on the preceding strip. Trim the log cabin block to a square 46.5 x 46.5 cm as shown in the diagram.

Finishing the cushion:Iron the interfacing to the wrong side of the front and back squares.

First neaten one edge of the front and back squares. Place the squares right sides together and mark the centre 40 cm of the neatened edge. Using a short stitch length (ca 2), stitch from one outer edge to the first marking. Backtack. Increase stitch length to 5 and stitch to the next mark. Backtack. Decrease stitch length to 2 and complete the seam to the outer edge. Press the seam open. Centre the zip underneath the pressed open seam between the markings and pin or baste in place. Stitch in place using the zipper foot. Remove the longer stitches between the markings. Open the zip half way.Fold cushion front and back right sides together. Stitch around all open edges with 0.75 cm seam allowance. Neaten seam allowances together. Turn cushion cover right sides out. Place insert inside cover. Close zip..
