Yea, my theory a fter spending some time really thinking about it, is that when you had the pH swing a

couple weeks ago, you must have locked out the N for a couple days, and temporary N starvation will

trigger flowering almost instantly! Since I have been cutting back on my veg feeding and more slowly

moving into my flower feeding regime, I think the plants took their sweet time to transition into

flowering!

Another trick for getting the plant to flower sooner is temporary drought stress! A day or two longer

than normal without watering and you will have pistils everywhere soon after!

Those are two little tricks I picked up in one of my classes this week!

get acclimated!! They've been rocking since day 1! Never had an issue!!

Organics is the life for me!!

Hmm. . . well then maybe it really is just a faster genotype! I can't wait to see if it matches my cut in

quality! I have some pics I think I will put up later, gotta go grab some free flowers from one of my

classes first though!

Thanks Kush! I def got some amazing flower genetics at school! Our class was able to visit a display

garden put on by an ornamental flower breeding company, and the company does all their propagation

by cutting! So that means that in a given year, for a single variety, they will take over 10 million cuttings

for production! And all this is done over in Nigeria, and then put on express shipping planes to get the

unrooted cuttings sent to greenhouse growers here in the US, that buy them by the hundreds and put

them into plugs in the US!

The really cool part about getting the opportunity to see this companies display garden, is that because

this company only sells cuttings to growers in the US (not consumers), these varieties on display were all

unreleased genetics that were being advertised to growers to buy next year and sell next year! So

when I stayed late to help tear down the potted plant display gard en, I was allowed to pick a plant to

take home free! I chose a new petunia cultivar called Midnight Cowboy, and the flowers are as close to

black as an obvious purple could ever get! The plant it roughy 3 feet wide, a nd only 20" tall including

the pot, and has easily over 300 flowers in full bloom on it right now! I will take a picture in the

morning when the light in my house is better, and when the plant has perked back up from the wilted

state it is currently in. The company had allowed the plants to go without water a day longer than usual

to make them easier to move when the display was over this afternoon, and they didn't look to happy

after the 20 minute drive in a very hot delivery truck back to campus. . . but it has been watered now

and should be ready for pictures again in the morning!

I am always amazed that there is such a huge industry behind ornamental flowers, because most people

can't even keep the plant alive for a few weeks after they buy it! But I guess that keeps the customer

coming back for more, and that keeps the money coming my way as a horticulturist!

lol yea, thats just one variety! This company does 100's if not 1000's of varieties! And yea I am sure it

takes an army and a ton of land, and that is probably why they do it in Africa!

OK, late night update just for you Jin! I tried to take some shots from similar perspectives as the photos

I see in your journal, because I really like your photos! I am not as far into flowering as you, obviously,

so things don't look quite as impressive yet. . . but very soon they will!

All these photos were taken this morning shortly after lights on:

White Urkle B - 23 days after flip to 12/12 lighting, flowered from clone, zero days veg, transplanted

from coco plug into 2 gallon coco pot! The 2 gallon pot is not propped up, it is on the same level tray as

the 7 gallon pots the WiFi are in, and the clone stretched to be taller than the WiFi are now! If that

doesn't sound impressive, go back a page and take at look at the size of the clone when it was a week

into flowering! I will take measurements in the morning to make sure these numbers are not completely

wrong, but roughly 5-6" tall when f lipped, now roughly 22-26 inches tall!

that many clones of any of the elite strains. . . . !!

Thanks Big Cheese! This phenotype of the WiFi in particular really like to stretch! I wish I was running

the Dehumidifier I just put in all round, the plants looks even happier now that the RH is stuck no

higher than 45%. I guess round 3 will be even bigger!

Trichs are starting to produce again. . . they took a few days off for some reason, lol. The plants do look

really great! Besides some calcium and iron deficiencies that I have battled in a very minor way, this run

has surely been my healthiest overall!

Is there a difference between Urkle and Erkle? I think my seed pack says White Urkle, but I have

noticed you call it Erkle, and WE. . . . am I making a fool of myself with a spelling error this whole time?

And yea, this phenotype B I found is just amazing! Truly my favorite plant to grow right now!

Practically grows itself, and looks more than great doing it! I am catering my nutrients 100% to Da

WiFi, and the WU looks happier th an Da WiFi has all round, with no special care or attention!

The upward leaf stance is something I was missing all last grow with the WMK. . . and this run has

really been enjoyable to tend to everyday, looking happy and praying to the light all day! I don't know if

the branches will fill in, this phenotype doesn't get especially large buds, or at least it didn't last time,

but here's hoping! Thanks for you usual keen eye and positive comments Krasi!

Stretch, stretch, stretch. . . . .stretch a little more, stop and make you think she's done. . . stretch when

you turn your back. . . haha the WiFi never stops I swear! Bu t I love it! The da y you think you aregonna start seeing them swell with no more new buds, the next thing you now, each cola has 4 new bud

sites in it! I do wish they would get a little fatter though! My plants have just started to expand the calyx

a little, and I think I am going to see some new beautiful buds here over the next week!

Picture update for Da WiFi and the WU clone coming later tonight, for now, here are the pictures of my

new petunia variety, as promised, and as usual, 2 days late! I made a correction to the post about it

above, but I am guessing most of you didn't notice, the actual name of this cultivar is 'Midnight

Cowboy', not midnight violet as I said before. I photographed it in a few different natural lights, so

please excuse the edited blurred edges, I didn't want to advertise what the outside of my property looks

like.

Fun fact of the day: This petunia plant is caked in trichomes! The stems and leaves are super sticky

and totally covered in fuzzy hair, which on the cellular level in proper botanical terms is actually

referred to as trichomes! If you aren't familiar with petunias and cannot picture this, the same can be

said for the stems of a tomato plant, or if you really don't garden outside of cannabis at all, an even

more familiar example would be peaches, which are fuzzy because of little tiny hairs covering the fruit. .

. those hairs are botanically referred to as trichomes! So you can tell someone you just picked up a dank

peach at the store and it is sweet ass hell, and caked in trichomes! Fortunately, but unfortunately, only

trichomes on the cannabis plant produce THC.

Time for a White Urkle budder rip from the Hurricane and then I will sort through and upload picturesfrom tonight of the indoor plants

First day of what I callweek 5 Update, but because that seems to be radically different for different

people, today was 28 days after the plants were transplanted into 7 gallon containers and experienced

their first 12 hour night cycle, beginning the 12/12 light schedule!

So the pictures I took tonight were all from less than 30 minutes before lights out, so these ladies are

really sticking in there to the end of the day now, no droop towards the end like I sometimes see. The

first couple are group shots, remember there are only 5 plants on the tray, 4 WiFi in 7 gals and 1 WU

clone in a 2 gal right in the center. After the group shots, I shot some macros of bud tops, and soon to

be (hopefully) beautiful colas of frosty fuely pine ceda ry goodness! I hope you like staring at these ladies

as much as I do!
