On November 17th, our Taekwondo event at Bill Copeland, happened for our entire school. Students had fun watching matches and cheering on athletes from around the world. Good luck to our local hero from Alpha Secondary who is competing in the World Championships. Special thanks to our parent chaperones for attending the event. Our hot lunches sponsored by our LCSA continue and I encourage all families to take advantage of these fun lunches. Our parent volunteers have grown and I appreciate your time spent here at Lochdale. Dear Parents:

We were so fortunate to have had a wonderful event acknowledging our beloved friend, volunteer

extraordinaire and active member in our community, Ken Ryan. On Saturday, November 5th from 12 to 3

friends, family and staff shared stories, laughter, and the utmost respect for Ken and Lou who are going

through difficult family health issues. I would like to thank Ms. Coombes and Ms. Juma from the school

who worked tirelessly to make the event a big success. Our past LCSA member, Enza Manfredi, and

present LCSA members organized much of the event as well and special mention to Shirley Hatch for

initiating this great event. Thank you to all who attended and we hope that your memories from Ken’s

work will impact future events and activities at Lochdale and around the community.

Our volleyball season is coming to a close. As both boys’ and girls’ teams prepare for playday tournaments,

I want to thank our coaches for their time: Ms. Volpe, Ms. Pettingale, Ms. Louie, Ms. Sandhu, and Ms.

Hare. Congratulations to our grade 7 players. We hope they will continue pursuing volleyball at the high

school level.

On November 17th, our Taekwondo event at Bill Copeland,

happened for our entire school. Students had fun watching matches

and cheering on athletes from around the world. Good luck to our

local hero from Alpha Secondary who is competing in the World

Championships. Special thanks to our parent chaperones for

attending the event.

Our hot lunches sponsored by our LCSA continue and I encourage all families to take advantage of these

fun lunches. Our parent volunteers have grown and I appreciate your time spent here at Lochdale.

Many staff have been embracing the redesigned curriculum. We are excited about the possibilities. Come

visit or discuss with your child’s teacher the many events happening in our school. Please note that our

technology plan is alive and well. Numerous classrooms are using technology thanks in large part to our

LCSA. We will also be looking at adding some additional tools through cooperation of our school district.

Keep in touch with your classroom teachers around what technology is being incorporated into the

classrooms.

As we approach a significant holiday season, please note that we are aware that many of our own families

are in need of many things. Holidays can be stressful for all of us, so please remember to spread the act of

giving to all.
