    Kem Hinton, FAIA, is founding partner with Seab Tuck, FAIA, of Tuck-Hinton Architects. He was born in Nashville, raised in

    Murfreesboro, and received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Architecture

    degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His completed projects include the Tennessee Bicentennial Capitol Mall, TSU

    Campus Center and its Performing Arts Building, numerous structures at Montgomery Bell Academy, Tennessee Valley

    Unitarian Church, Admissions Building and Buttrick Hall at Vanderbilt University, Tennessee Aquarium IMAX Center, Woodmont

    Hills Church of Christ, Civil Rights Room at Nashville Public Library, MTSU Sports Hall of Fame, and the Tennessee World War

    II Memorial. Kem was the author of a 230-page book, A Long Path: The Search for a Tennessee Bicentennial Landmark, which

    documented the design and completion of the 19-acre Bicentennial Mall (foreword was by Denise Scott Brown & Robert

    Venturi). The Mall was recently selected as a "Top Ten Public Spaces" by the American Planning Association. His currentdesign assignments include the Wings of Liberty Museum at Ft. Campbell, MTSU Admissions & Student Services Building, and

    the National Museum of African American Music. Kem is a member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of

    Architects, Downtown Nashville Rotary Club, and Belle Meade United Methodist Church. He has been inducted into Leadership

    Nashville (1995) and Leadership Middle Tennessee (2010). He is married to Marilyn Mabry Hinton, and they have one son, T.J .,

    a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University. Kems hobbies include drawing, history, skiing, hiking, woodworking, and the

    weekend use of a very sharp chainsaw.
