Maintain operational downtime and accelerate

recovery of government and business after

Updating the existing HMP template to address the

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

Local Hazard Mitigation Planning (LHMP) Guidance

document

Climate Change Mitigation

Update hazard profiles

Update asset information

Address repetitive loss properties

Review mitigation strategies with participating

jurisdictions

Using LHMP:

Develop a process, tools, and/or system to ensure

each participant is able to:

Complete the update and

Update the plan maintenance procedures.

Project develops a template for jurisdictions to

use in updating LHMP’s.

Many 4, 5 and 6 plus aftershocks

Plan allowed County to see where we had deficits

and plan response to deal with issues

All county departments, Cities and towns and

outside agencies worked better together because

of planning and exercising. (Teams)

Emergency Operations Center run smoother

because responders were on the same page
