    LMU's Part-Time MBA Program Ranked 6 th in the Nationby Bloomberg Businessweek

    The part-time MBA program at Loyola Marymount University's College of Business Administration was ranked No. 6 among thenation's top programs and No. 3 in the West in a survey released by Bloomberg Businessweek magazine. This year's ranking isan increase of seven places in the national survey, and two places in the regional survey.

    The Bloomberg Businessweek rankings are released every two years and are based on a number of factors, including a surveyof current students, academic quality assessments and post-MBA outcomes. This year's survey assessed programs at morethan 78 business schools.

    "These rankings reflect the commitment and investment of the CBA community to academic excellence," said Dennis Draper,dean of LMU's College of Business Administration. "This achievement shows us that we are on the right path to continuedsuccess."

    Applications are now available for the upcoming spring, summer and fall semesters. Applications are evaluated on a rollingbasis. Once your application is complete, you will be notified of the decision of the Admissions Committee within two weeks. Thefollowing items must be received prior to application review:

    Comparative Management Systems (CMS) The CMS Program is offered to MBA students as part of the integrative experience degree requirement and is an opportunity togain firsthand exposure to global management concepts and practice. The program is highly recommended for all MBA studentsinterested in conducting business in the modern global economy.

    The CMS Program requires a year of study and concludes with travel to 3-5 countries in a specific region of the world. In eachcountry, students meet with business executives, visit local attractions and learn about the business environment, social cultureand customs.

    The substantial group experience obtained through CMS helps students develop their leadership skills. The internationalcomponent benefits those seeking careers in almost any field and identifies students as informed, confident, self-sufficientmanagers who are able to learn quickly and adapt to changing conditions.     THE ENVIRONMENT OF BUSINESS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION

    The two-week program runs between the end of summer session II and thefall semester.

    GPA Requirement: Good academic standing in the MBA ProgramPre-requisite: Completion of MBAA 606 Marketing ManagementCredits: 3 semester hoursProgram Fee will be determined in the spring semester before departure.

    PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONThe program examines the European Union as a major player in the globalmarketplace and as a multinational institution and policymaking body. TheEUs public marketplace is examined and comparisons are made with other

    approaches. The program also addresses current critical issues facing theEU. Upon completion, students will: understand how the EU sets policies in aunifying way that fit the needs of 27 member states, each with its owngovernment, culture, business community and language; learn howcompanies in various industries do business within the EU context;understand how the cultures of centuries-old nations adapt to and impactpolicymaking and business practices; learn the policy responsibilities of theEuropean Central Bank, how the European Monetary Union is structured, andhow they differ with the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank; and learn the uniquefeatures of the EU as a marketplace.
