RE: EIGHTH GRADE ACTIVITIES Dear Parent/Guardian of Eighth Graders: I am excited to announce the multiple activities that we have planned for your child as they conclude their eighth grade year here at Lindsay. Our teachers and staff are working hard to provide memorable activities and experiences for your child. Please be mindful that any student receiving any SIPS or OSS beginning April 20th will NOT be able to participate in any of the activities listed below. June 4 Presidents Award for Educational Excellence Ceremony and Breakfast
This awards program recognizes the following eighth grade students: 3.5 GPA or higher A Honor Roll for the entire year A/B Honor Roll for the entire year B Honor Roll for the entire year Perfect Attendance for the entire year Students meeting one or more of the above criteria will receive a separate letter detailing this event. The dress code noted below regarding promotion ceremonies will be observed.
June 5 Eighth Grade Semi-Formal Dance, 7 9 pm Dress Code: Ladies ! Dresses may not be cut below the bust line. ! Dresses may not be backless. ! Dresses may not be strapless. ! Dresses may not have midriffs exposed (including both the front and the sides). ! Dresses may not be shorter than or have a slit that is two inches above the knee. ! Undergarments should not be visible. Gentlemen ! You may wear a suit or tux (no jeans). ! You may not sag your pants. ! Undergarments should not be visible.
June 6 8th Grade Busch Gardens Trip This trip is available to the first 100 students that sign-up for the trip who have also participated in either After School Tutoring or Saturday School.
Promotion Ceremony Guidelines Not only will students be recognized for promotion to the ninth grade but also for a variety of other achievements. Sign-out sheets will be available after your childs team assembly. Please arrive on time as our students will process in promptly at the designated start time. Dress Code: Business Casual (No shorts or jeans!) Ladies ! Dresses may not be cut below the bust line. ! Dresses may not be backless. ! Dresses may not be strapless. !
