5. Sew with a 3/8” (slightly larger) seam allowance from the bottom point to just inside the sewn part at the top, pulling the fabric back as much as possible and sew a few stitches past the first seam if you can.

6. Clip corners and turn right side out through the top and press well.

7. Make tie wrap: Match top and bottom edges and fold right sides together. Sew with a 1/4” seam allowance. Turn right side out with seam pressed open at the middle back.

8. Fold tie wrap with right sides together (the sides without the seam), matching raw edges and sew with a 1/4” seam allowance.

9. Fold tie in half towards the back, then fold the edges back towards the center. Press lightly.

10. Slide tie wrap over tie, nesting the raw edge of the tie wrap in the middle of the crease in the back of the tie. Make sure you cover the edges of the tie where the seams meet.

11. Hand tack the tie wrap in place if desired.

12. Press the bottom of the tie flat.

13. Feed your dog’s collar through the open part at the top of the tie.

Make one for every holiday and dress your little guy up for some cute pictures!

Tips:

Don’t worry if it’s not perfect! Your dog won’t care! Experiment with wider or larger ties or contrasting tie wraps. Just don’t make it too long so he doesn’t trip!

Carefully watch your dog while wearing this. For safety, we recommend photo ops only!

This is a good project to use up scraps of interfacing. Trim to 3” wide and line them up carefully and press. No one will know!

If your pup doesn’t wear a collar in the house (but he’s microchipped, right?) then fold a strip of fabric in fourths and edge-stitch and sew some hook & loop tape on the ends and feed that through the tie.

Share lots of yummy treats with your dog for modeling! And his little sister too, if he has one!!
