Page 4

Project Overview

• Graphical User Interface for creating liquid-based models

• Complex geometric objects– Solid phase

• Already covered by CAD

– Liquid phase• New functionality

Page 5: Liquid-CAD Object Modeler A Physics-Based Modeling Utility

Page 5

Project Overview

• Physics-Based Modeler performs surface evolution

• Integration to VX software

Page 6: Liquid-CAD Object Modeler A Physics-Based Modeling Utility

Page 6

Requirements

• Developed as an add-on module for VX CAD

• Functionality accessed via a new toolbar

• VX CAD is used to specify the base geometry of an object and define boundary conditions

Page 7: Liquid-CAD Object Modeler A Physics-Based Modeling Utility

Page 7

Requirements

• Toolbar contains the following functionality:– New

• Opens up a new window to allow the user to define specifications and generation procedure

– Run• Starts and displays the

evolution process

– Stop• Halts the evolution

Page 8: Liquid-CAD Object Modeler A Physics-Based Modeling Utility

Page 8

Requirements

• Toolbar contains the following functionality:– Rewind

• Steps backwards through the evolution process

– Export• Saves the progress of the

evolution into a selected format

– Restore• Returns the evolved liquid

object to the normal VX CAD workspace.

Social Impact

•Competition / Implementation

•Many companies for CAD software and for PBM.

•PBM companies are very industry specific.

•CAD companies provide platform for introduction.

•VX first, then broader market
