Offshore

In the Offshore business segmentTechnip performs engineering,procurement, construction,installation, commissioning and therefurbishment/upgrading of offshorefacilities for the oil and gas industry.

Onshore

Technip covers the full range ofonshore facilities for the oil and gaschain, petrochemicals and otherenergy industries (nuclear, renewablesincluding biofuels and offshore wind).It holds many proprietary cutting-edge technologies and is the leader inthe design and construction of LNGand gas treatment plants as well asethylene, hydrogen and syngas units.

Subsea

Technip pioneeredbase-load LNG plantconstruction throughthe first-ever facility inArzew, Algeria. Some 50 years later,the Group has built1/3 rd of world LNGcapacity.

LNG market growth

Natural gas is a premium energy with high growth driven particularly by thedemand for gas fired power stations. Gas consumption is expected to doubleby 2030, whereas production is increasingly far from consumption centres.

The liquefaction of natural gas is the most economical solution for delivering itinto distant markets. Over the last decade, we at Technip have serviced thisfast growing LNG market using our expertise to execute many multi-billiondollar EPC contracts with our Joint Venture partners.

Africa’s biggest LNG complex

The relationship with our clientNigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) spansover three decades.

With our JV partners, Snamprogetti,KBR and JGC, we have helpedestablish our client NLNG as one ofthe biggest LNG producers in Africaand one of the major players in theglobal natural gas industry.

When we designed the first twotrains of today's plant in the 1980's,the capacity set a new recordthrough the first ever use of GEFrame 7 gas turbines. The project alsoincluded the first cryogenic hydraulicexpansion turbines.

We went on to design and build allsix trains with our partners startingwith trains 1 and 2 in the 1990's. The latest, train 6, was successfullydelivered on time at the end of 2007with an excellent safety record andrapid start-up. These projectsprovide an overall productioncapacity for the complex of 22 Mtpaof LNG and 4 Mtpa of LPG andcondensate.

Increasing plant capacity byremoving bottlenecks

In 2001, Technip in joint venture withChiyoda was awarded an EPC contractto carry out the debottlenecking ofthe three existing LNG trains at theRas Laffan Industrial site, by the QatarLiquefied Gas Company (Qatargas).

The services and works consisted inreplacing and upgrading some of thekey process equipment such ascompressors and turbines. Shutdownswere limited to those required forscheduled maintenance.

With 50% additional capacity, thisproject was the largest LNG trainincrease in the world to-date, and wecompleted it ahead of schedule.

6 Liquefied Natural Gas

In 2004, following our success inQatargas trains 1, 2 and 3 and oureffective collaboration with Chiyoda,Qatargas 2 entrusted theChiyoda/Technip joint venture (CTJV)with the engineering, procurementand construction (EPC) contract fortrains 4 and 5.

These two trains are designed toproduce 7.8 Mtpa of LNG each, usingthe Air Products AP-X process andare the world's largest.

The LNG produced is sold into theUK market.

The joint venture scope also includesthe world's largest capacity gasreception facilities, gas treatmentunits, utility systems and LNGstorage & export terminal.

Trains 4 and 5 started successfully in2009.

In 2006, CTJV was awarded a thirdEPC contract for two more mega-trains within Qatargas.

Train 6 delivers 7.8 Mtpa of LNGprimarily to US markets. Train 7'soutput -also 7.8 Mtpa- is sold toNorth American markets.

This contract, the third of the threelarge LNG projects in Qatar, was finalconfirmation of the confidence ourclients and project stakeholders hadin CTJV's unique capabilities.

In 2005, the Ras Laffan LiquefiedNatural Gas Company Limited (3)followed Qatargas 2 by awardingCTJV two 7.8 Mtpa LNG trains. TheRasgas site is adjacent to Qatargas.

The LNG produced is exportedtowards the US and Asian markets.

In 2006, the contract for the AlKhaleej Gas Phase 2 Project (AKG-2)with a sales gas capacity of1,250 MMSCFD was awarded to CTJVfor execution within the Rasgas site.

Train 6 and 7 started up in theSummer of 2009 and in early 2010.

The world’s largest LNG trains

With the delivery of these sixtrains, we have contributedto Qatar's strategic plan andhave helped this State tobecome the world's largestsupplier of LNG with totalannual production of 77 Mtpain 2010.

In late 2005, Yemen LNG CompanyLtd (YLNG) awarded the Yemgasjoint venture an EPC contract for thedesign and construction of Yemen'sfirst LNG facility. Yemgas is aTechnip-led joint venture sharedequally between Technip, JGC andKBR.

The two trains have a total capacityof 6.7 Mtpa. Train 1 has beenproducing since Autumn 2009.Train 2 came on stream in early 2010.

Both trains have been producingsteadily ever since.

Technip's large resources enableddetailed engineering of these twotrains to be executed in parallel toQatar's 6 x 7.8 Mtpa mega trains.

As FEED contractor, EPC JV leaderand LNG train designer, this contractconfirmed our return to the first tierof EPC contractors in LNG.

In 2012 and 2013, Technip wasawarded several contracts for mid-scale LNG plants in China.

Yemen LNG Trains 1 and 2

Hanas LNG

In late 2011, Technip delivered theHanas mid-scale LNG plant on behalfof the Ningxia Hanas Natural GasCompany Ltd.

It is one of the largest facilities of itskind in China. It has two trains with acapacity of 400,000 tonnes per yeareach. The LNG is to be distributed tothe Chinese market.

With this contract, we demonstratedLNG capability from our KualaLumpur regional center. It was also abreakthrough into the mid-scale LNGmarket, representing newopportunities for our company.

Freeport LNG Receiving terminal

At the end of 2003, the FEED studieswere completed on behalf ofFreeport LNG Development L.P. fortheir receiving terminal to be locatedon Quintana Island, near Freeport,Texas.

In early 2005, we were awarded, as JVleader, the EPC contract for thisterminal whose send out capacityreaches 1.5 BCF/D of gas. This projectwas executed by our operatingcentre in Houston.

The Freeport Terminal successfullystarted in April 2008.

Built on involvement in the LNG industry'slandmark projects and cross fertilisation fromTechnip's NGL recovery and ethyleneprogrammes.

Our strategy of technological development has played adetermining role in our current success in LNG.

Technip’s strong position today is largely due to ourreputation won more than 45 years ago in Algeria, andmaintained since not only through projects but alsothrough innovations, patented and unpatented, that haveresulted from process studies performed in the course ofpre-FEED's and FEED's, and as part of R&D programmes.

Innovations that have benefitted thewhole LNG industry

We have instigated many technological developments whichare currently implemented in modern facilities such ascryogenic hydraulic turbines for LNG and MR expansion,and the split MR scheme introduced during the FEED of theYemen LNG project in 1997 and now routinely applied intrains that use the C3MR process of Air Products.

LNG Nitrogen rejection This technology allows better control of LNG nitrogencontent and fuel gas production. It is in service in severalplants, and has been adopted by a number of other projectscurrently under construction.

High performance exchangers

In November 2007, Technip and Wieland announced anagreement to jointly market innovative enhanced heattransfer solutions for LNG and ethylene plants.Exchangers designed by Technip around enhanced surfacetubes supplied by Wieland provide improved energyefficiency through an increase in production capacity, adecrease in energy consumption and reduced CO2

emissions. More than 50 large heat exchangers using thistechnology are in operation today. As part of theagreement that follows more than 10 years ofcollaboration, Technip and Wieland further develop,qualify, optimise and market new solutions using Technip'sequipment design know-how and Wieland's tubetechnologies.

Technology for high methane content LNG

We have developed other technologies that are findingapplications in the next generation of LNG trains. Theseinclude improvements to processes for deep extractionof ethane and heavier components (C2+ cuts) in order toproduce LNG with a high methane content (lean LNG).

Cryomax® - ERU LNG (Ethane recovery)

With this process, more than 95% of the ethane can beextracted from natural gas in a way that is compatible withthe liquefaction process. The process can be used as anintegrated feature of a new facility or retrofitted to existingtrains not initially designed for deep NGL recovery.

CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and Dynamic simulation help usto reduce investments for our clients via a decrease of designmargins necessary with less precise methods.
