INTRODUCTION of Lions Club of Hyderabad Sadhuram Eye Hospital:

Lions Club of Hyderabad Sadhuram Eye Hospital was inaugurated and opened to public on 16th June, 1974. From a

comparatively humble beginning, this Hospital grew to a most prestigious position that it now occupies among the

Eye Hospitals in Twin Cities.

VISION, MISSION & ACHIEVEMENTS:

The Vision & Mission of our Hospital is to see All India free of blindness, where every citizen enjoys the gift of sight and the visually challenged have enhanced quality of life as of right and to provide best-in-class, affordable, eye care services and adequate rehabilitation of the visually challenged.

Achievements: More than Two Hundred Thousand (2 Lakhs) Surgeries are performed so far and it is proudly stated that 70% of Surgeries are performed on patients without charging any amount from them.

With passage of time, The Hospital is fully equipped with state-of-the-art eye care equipments, both in Anterior &

Posterior Segments.

We have the expertise of some of the best and renowned ophthalmic medical professionals to provide world

standard services in eye care, assisted by Trained supporting Staff.

Eye Camps are conducted regularly in the Slum areas where the patients are screened and brought to the Hospital for free Cataract Operations.

The Camps are conducted independently and also with Organizations like Lions Clubs, Rotary Clubs, Help Age India,

GMR Foundation Steel authority of India Cement Corporation of India, VST Industries and many other organizations.

We examine and checkup school going

Satellite Centre:We have a Satellite Unit at Jeedimetla catering to the Ophthalmology needs of the poor & needy in and around the Industrial area of Jeedimetla, R.R.District.

Phacoemulsification & Small Incision Cataract Surgery Training

The number of surgeons performing Phacemulsification surgery is steadily increasing. There

is a great need to train our younger colleagues and students in this field. Therefore a

regular Phacoemulsification & Small Incision Cataract Training Programme has been

developed, where a qualified Ophthalmologist is extending training in Phacoemulsification

and Small Incision Cataract Surgery.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES

We had been invited to participate in a Global Multi Centre Drug Trial by Thiea Research

Group of France and the Drug Trial commenced after fulfilling the various formalities and

we are proud to say that our efforts bore fruit and we stood 3rd in the Country.

RESEARCH PROJECT

Lions Sadhuram Eye Hospital Doctors present research papers at State, National and

International Conferences, Seminars etc… regularly expanding the horizons of visions.
