We believe there were more than 5 Clubs who sent their Applications to LCI via IPDG Ron Gattone. For example, Emu Plains, Parramatta did send their Applications to LCI. Would the Clubs check whether they did remit LCIF donations before 30 th June 2018? I will investigate this anomaly soon. PEACE POSTER DISTRICT 201N5 CONTEST The District Chair Peace Poster Mark Sing has run the contest and short listed the entrees. I am sure the selection committee has selected the winner. The winner will be announced soon and will be represented at the MD 201 Peace Poster Contest. REGIONAL LIONS LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (RLLI) – Leadership Training 2019-20 RLLI helps Lions in their District achieve leadership excellence in their volunteer and personal lives. Develop your leadership skills and share experiences with others. Eligibility—preference will be given to Lions who have not completed a full term as Club President and any Leo (over 18 years). Lions who have been Club President are also eligible to apply and will be offered places depending on availability. Application forms available from your District GLT Co-Ordinator Chris Bowles or download form MD website www.lions.org.au The applications 2019/20 will be available in Feb 2019. FORM A12 ANNUAL SUMMARY OF FINANCIAL AFFAIRS – TIER 1 & TIER 2 INFORMATION The Public Officer has the important role of ensuring your club is compliant with the regulations under the Department of Fair Trading through the lodgement of an Annual Return. Tier 2 (small) associations are required to lodge an Annual summary of financial affairs within one month after the holding of the AGM and not later than 7 months after the end of the financial year of the association, whichever is earlier, unless an extension of time for holding an AGM or to lodge an annual summary has been approved. The Associations Incorporation Act 2009 establishes a two-tier reporting regime for associations registered in NSW. An association is a Tier 2 association if: The gross receipts/total revenue (income/money collected) of the association for the association's financial year is less than $250,000, and the current assets (cash/bank accounts/shares) of the association for the association's financial year is less than $500,000. The fact sheet titled `Associations financial reporting' on www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au provides information on the reporting requirements for Tier 1 and Tier 2 associations.

MEMBERSHIP Nov 2018

As of 31st of Oct 2018, our membership was 1,577. The membership number as at 27th Nov 2018 was 1,569. A decline

for the first time since June 2018. There were 100 new members YTD Oct 2018. Unfortunately, 76 members departed

during the same period. YTD Nov net growth is 24, whereas YTD Oct net growth was 32.

CLUB REPORTING MMR – Oct 2018 – 100% reporting Once again, we managed to achieve 100% completion rate. Congratulations to all of you. Hope you will do the same

in Nov 2018 and going forward. ACTIVITY REPORTS – Oct 2018 – a slight disappointment

Regrettably, the number of clubs reported their Activity Reports in Oct 18 was 48, compared to 52 in Sep 2018. Your club can still report Jul 17 to Oct 18 activities in MyLCI. Should your club secretary need any assistance in this regard, please let us know.

DISTRICT 201N5 NEWS 1 NEW APPOINTMENTS TO CABINET District Chair Organ Donor Awareness Lion Mohan Nanayakkara was appointed as Shadow Cabinet Secretary effective immediately. DG Derek also appointed two new members Pearl Lin (Lions Club of West Pennant Hills / Cherrybrook) and Lion Yang Liu of Lions Club of Sydney Inner West to the District Marketing & Communications team. Welcome and best wishes to new appointees. 2 67TH MD 201 CONVENTION – GEELONG VICTORIA – 4TH MAY 2018 TO 6TH MAY 2019 – AT RYDGES GEELONG

We hope some of our members are planning to attend this convention. Already, there are about 10 members who are planning to attend. The Convention centre would be The Arena. The headquarters Hotel for the Convention is Hotel Rydges. Registrations & Displays are opened from Friday the 3rd evening. The official opening will be on Saturday the 4th May 2019. However, there are range of accommodation options which can be accessed through the Convention website. There will be Business Sessions, Remembrance Ceremony, Gala Dinner, two Partners’ Tours and plenty more. The Sydney 88 is in the process of organising a wonderful tour covering Geelong and other suburbs of Victoria. Sydney 88 will fly you to this City by the Bay -- Geelong with accommodation and many more. All for a great price that only Sydney 88 can offer. 3 DG VISITS TO ZONES (DG DIARY) DG Derek Margerison visited Zones 10, 2, 7. He will visit Zone 11 on the 28th Nov and Zone 8 on the 29th of Nov. Zones 4 and 6 will host a joint Zone meeting on 8th Dec 2018. 4 DISTRICT LEO 201N5 Our Leos got together and formed a Leo District 201N5 at the last District Convention. MEMBERSHIP We have got 10 Leo Clubs in our District. Per MyLCI We have got over 125 Leo members in these 10 Clubs. Per MyLCI As per MyLCI, here is the breakdown of the Clubs – Baulkham Leos 10, Burwood Girls 2, Cherrybrook 42, Crestwood 21, Cumberland High School 23, Oatley 3, Sydney Asian Himalaya 22, Sydney Inner West 1, Sydney South Shapla 1, Note: - Oatley and Sydney Inner West have not updated their membership in MyLCI since 2017. I am sure these two clubs have more than 3 & 1. Hope the Leo Advisers of these two clubs will help the Leo Clubs to update the records in MyLCI. ACTIVITIES Crestwood Leo Club, Cherrybrook Leo Club and Sydney Asian Himalayas Leo Club have reported their Activities from July 2018 to Nov 2018 in MyLCI. I am sure other Clubs have carried out many projects and assisted their respective Lions Clubs in projects. Unfortunately, they have not reported in MyLCI. The Leo Advisers of these Clubs should assist the Leos to enter these important statistics in MyLCI.

ZONE NEWS – 1) Zone 10 – DROUGHT RELIEF CONCERT – CASTLE HILL RSL – SATURDAY 10TH NOV 2018

An excellent show superbly organised by Zone 10 Clubs lead by Zone Chair Elizabeth Lessells. It was very well attended, and everyone enjoyed thoroughly and lots of money for the drought-stricken farmers.

2) ZONE 7 – TRIVIA NIGHT NEED FOR FEED – EASTLAKES SPORTS CLUB – THURSDAY 22ND NOV 2018 Zone Chair Tony Moore and Zone 7 Club organised this event. It was a very successful night.

1) Emu Plains held its Youth of the Year Quest on 22nd of Nov 2018. The event was well organised by the YOTY Chair.

2) West Pennant Hills / Cherrybrook had its YOTY on 26th of Nov 2018. It was an excellent night.

2) SPECIAL OLYMPIC AUSTRALIA (SOA) SOAR AND ROAR FESTIVAL – SUNDAY 9TH DECEMBER 2018 – SYDNEY

MOTORSPORT PARK, FERRERS ROAD, EASTERN CREEK – please get involved in this worthy project. SOA is

looking for around 50 Leos and Lions volunteers who could spend the day at the track starting around

8.30AM and going through until around 4PM. Volunteers will be signed in and given instructions on arrival,

will be provided with meals during the day and will be given an identifying volunteer shirt to wear. District

encourages members to support this project by registering as a volunteer at

3) KINGS LANGLEY VILLAGE FAIR –& X/mas Carols – Sunday 16 December 2018 The organisers along with Blacktown Council have arranged to hold the Fair along with Christmas Carols on 16 Dec 2018. If you are keen to book a Stall, please liaise with John Fernandes. His Mobile is 0419 663 466.

4) POP UP MARKET – LIONESS CLUB OF SUTHERLAND – Jannali – Uniting Church -15 Dec 2018 All proceeds to NSW Drought Assistance. Entry Gold Coin donation.
