ECO Flex the perfect, flexible

EPDM floating membrane

ECO Flex & ECO Top are resin-based single-component, floating EPDM membranes, which are certified according to the EEC Directive 98/83/CE. That means the product may be in direct contact with drinking water for human consumption and is therefore completely safe for humans, fish etc..

ECO Flex & ECO Top have excellent adhesion characteristics and can easily be applied on various surfaces used in hydraulic infrastructures, such as concrete, mortar, ceramics, fibreglass reinforced polyester etc.. Not suitable for PP or PE.

Hardening time: 4-6 hours (in summer at temperatures of about 15° C), 12-24 hours (in winter at temperatures below 15° C).

Application: To obtain a membrane thickness of 1,5 to 1,9 mm (approx. 2 kg per m²), you have to apply at least 2 layers ECO Flex and 2 layers ECO Top. We recommend to use the humidity primer ECO Primer 90 or ECO Primer 95 prior to painting with ECO Flex & ECO Top.

Advantages: Economical and easy to use. Provides a gap-free and homogeneous membrane, which adapts

perfectly to the worked surface. Withstands extreme mechanical and chemical stresses.

ECO Flex & ECO Top can also be used in areas that are difficult to access with other solutions. It is easy to ob-tain a uniform thickness combining the product with GEOtex Pro (see page 4), which provides an optimal base even in extremely steep or vertical areas.

ECO Flex & ECO Top can be applied at low temperatures and high humidity. To achieve a thinner consistency, both products can be diluted with alcohol (but never with more than 10%) or cooled down.

ECO Top - Blue, ensures a perfect finish in quarantine tanks and aquariums. The popular blue colour enhances

the colours of the fish. ECO Top - Turquoise is particularly decorative in ponds and swimming pools.

We recommend to pre-treat basins, where water or moisture can penetrate through the concrete, with ECO Primer 90 or ECO Primer 95.

ECO Primer 90 can be used on all dry surfaces, i.e. surfaces with a humidity content of less than 15.

ECO Primer 95 can be used on all surfaces with a humidity content over 15.

Both primers can be used in combination with Geotex Pro as an reinforcement. Pre-treat the surface with primer and apply Geotex Pro on the area, which shall be painted and apply primer one to three times more, so that the Geotex Pro is saturated. Then the surface has to be painted with 2 layers of ECO Flex and at least with 2 to 3

layers of ECO Top in the chosen colour.

ECO Arosil 200 F is used when a fast hardening time is necessary, such as on vertical surfaces or when the tem-peratures are below 10º C.

If you want to process the product at high temperatures, i.e. over 20º C, we recommend to cool down the product to 10 to 15º C, that makes handling easier and the hardening time will increase.

NOTE: Please follow the instruction manual and be aware, that it is the responsibility of the consumer to obtain information on applicable rules and regulations for the use of these products.

Ratio of components

ECO–Flex 390 is supplied in measured quantities, ready for blending.

The best working temperature for blending and processing the product is from 15-20° C.

Blend the components thoroughly with a drilling machine with mixer or a portable blender (make sure,

that the entire hardener is consumed).

The mixing procedure should take no longer than 2-3 minutes.

4 parts ECO-Flex 390 + 1 part HARDENER 88 / 82

Dilution ECO–Flex 390 can be diluted with max. 10% alcohol.

Hardening time at 20°C

ECO–Flex 390 is accessible and can withstand heavier loads after 2-3 days . ECO-Flex 390 is completely hardened after 7 days.

Preparations The surface must be dry, clean and free of dirt, oil and loos particles. Possible cement residues have to be sanded down and the ground must be cleaned.

Processing The mixture can be applied manually with a brush, trowel or roller.

For a non-slip surface, mix sand or gravel directly into the paint. Apply an extra layer the day after.

Time exposure ECO–Flex 390 should be processed about 30 minutes after mixing.

Storage ECO–Flex 390 can be stored at temperatures from - 30°C up to + 75°C

Cleaning The surface can be cleaned with alcohol or xylene.

Quantity Per m²: approx. 0,25 kg/layer. For membranes at least 2 layers of totally 0,5 kg/m² .

Safety At normal room temperature and good ventilation (windows and doors) you only need plastic gloves and safety goggles when you blend the components.
