We at ” FIRE KNOCK” the pioneers and Distributor of LINEAR HEAT SENSING CABLE & market leaders in

Fire Safety & Security Systems for more than three decades having our Head office in Mumbai.

FIRE KNOCK is a trusted name in the market for our commitment to world class quality, competitive

pricing, strong technical support & prompt Customer Service.

We have gained immense experience in the technology apart from engaging experienced manpower -

technocrat & commercial, to understand the risk area we offer right from Basic Designing, Value

Engineering, Commissioning Support, Trouble Shooting and Training Support. Understanding the needs of

the customer and giving them appropriate solutions; under a single roof has always been the principle at

Description: Linear Heat Detector, the main component of our linear heat detection systems, is a

proprietary cable that detects heat conditions anywhere along its length. Available in a range of alarm

temperatures and jacket models to suite a vast array of fire detection applications

Principles: The primary mechanism of heat (fire) detection is that inner core insulating polymer is specially formulated such that it plasticizes at a specific temperature. The cable is constructed such that

the twisted steel cores are in tension, and at the polymer trigger temperature the conductors connect.

This provides an alarm signal to any associated monitoring device. The LHDC may be used as a simple

switch to operate a relay etc. However in most fire alarm installations the minimum requirement is that

the LHDC circuit is monitored for disconnections by means of an End Line (EOL) device and an appropriate

Fire Alarm Channel or Address Loop interface unit. LHS CABLE can provide more sophisticated monitoring

schemes that can discriminate and identify Zone / Area alarm initiations whilst maintaining a single length

of LHDC. The LHS Digital Linear Heat Detectors are designed to provide early detection of fire conditions

and overheating in circumstances where other forms of detection would not be viable, either due to

inability to sustain the environmental requirements or through prohibitive costs. Extensive single zonal

lengths of the Linear Heat Detector (LHD) may be installed with the ability to trigger alarms for ‘hot spots’

occurring on very small sections of the overall cable.

The LHDC may be employed in a wide variety of applications but is particularly suited where there is a

harsh environmental condition, a physical or hazardous maintenance access constraint to the protected

area, and/or requirements to cost effectively install detection in close proximity to the risk(s)

    The Key features are:-

Early detection of hazards at temperatures well below flame point

Rugged construction for use in harsh environments.

Ease of installation - wide range of fixings available.

Compatible with many existing zone monitors / control equipments.

    Fixed Alarm Trigger Temperature

Intrinsically Safe configurable for Hazardous Areas.

    Compliant with industry standards

    Extensive range of proven applications.

    UL Approved, ULC LISTED

Construction: The sensor cable is comprised of two steel conductors individually insulated with a heat sensitive polymer. The insulated conductors are twisted together to impose a spring pressure

between them, then wrapped with a protective tape and finished with an outer jacket suitable for the

environment in which the Detector will be installed.

Application: LHDC is versatile in that it can both provide an alternative to point heat detectors in conventional (space) protection situations and it may also be readily installed in very close proximity to

    monitored hazards.

The detector is particularly suited to applications where harsh environmental conditions preclude the use

    of other forms of detection.

The low maintenance requirement of the detector provides a unique solution to fire detection in areas

that have access restrictions due to either physical difficulties or personnel health risk.

The cable may be installed in Hazardous Areas by means of Intrinsically Safe Zener Barriers. When the

protected area is remote from the monitoring equipment ‘interposing’ cables may be employed.

Linear Heat Detector is made in multiple temperature ratings to allow for differences in normal

or ambient temperature. Guidelines for selecting the proper detector temperature rating are the same as

for automatic sprinklers and other heat actuated devices. Refer to the Temperature Rating Chart for

proper model selection based upon installation temperature limits.

The Detector’s product range consists of four distinct types of cable. Each designation identifies a specific

outer jacket material which has unique characteristics that have been selected to accommodate the

    widest range of installation environments.

    The Alarm Point Location Meter

An exclusive feature of Fire System control panels, the alarm point location meter is designed to locate a

heat actuated point on a length of Linear Heat Detector. The Meter provides a means to display the alarm

point location, represented as a linear distance in Feet or Meters, from the start of the 0portion of the

circuit to the heat actuated alarm point on the detector.

Alarm Point Location Setup: Each zone is field calibrated after installation to eliminate

copper feed cable resistance from the Alarm Point Location reading. This is done by manually shorting the

detector at the beginning of the zone and adjusting the display to zero "0000".

Zone Mapping: When a Linear Heat Detection System using the Alarm Point Location Meter is first

brought online, points along the detector correlating to a floor plan or installation detail can be

temporarily shorted an measured. Each distance reading can then be marked on the floor plan or detail at

it's corresponding point. In the future, a reading of the Alarm Point Location Meter can be referenced on

the floor plan or detail, making location of the overheated (alarm) portion of the wire easier to locate.
