Linear actuators have 1.8° high torque stepper motors available in two ange sizes: NEMA 17 (1.7" / 42 mm sq.) and NEMA 23 (2.3" / 57 mm sq.). These compact linear actuators with 1.8° high torque stepper motors are available in two fl ange sizes: • NEMA 17 (1.7" / 42 mm square fl ange)• NEMA 23 (2.3" / 57 mm square fl ange)

These 2-phase linear actuator stepper motors can be operated at very high resolutions, depending on the stepper motor drive.

Shaft styles

To meet the needs of a wide range of linear motion applications, two (2) linear actuator shaft styles are offered: non-captive shaft and external shaft.

Non-captive shaft

A threaded shaft, extending through the motor, moves axially with the rotation of the nut integral to the motor's rotor.

External shaft

A threaded shaft, integral to the motor's rotor, rotates to move a shaft-mounted nut axially. Two nut styles are offered: general purpose and anti-backlash.

Lead screw characteristics

In combination with the self-lubricating nut of IMS linear actuators, precision rolled lead screws deliver maximum life and quiet operation. Lead screws are manufactured from premium grade stainless steel that is corrosion resistant, non-magnetic and available with an optional tefl on coating.

Drive system

Combine linear actuator stepper motors with MForce microstepping drives for very compact, high performance linear motion systems. MForce products are available in two power ranges, 3.0 A and 5.0 A, and in two versions: Motion Control (units with integrated programmable motion control-ler or optional CANopen interface) and Microstepping (drive-only units pro-grammed via pulse/direction interface). Optional QuickStart Kits are available to expedite initial functional setup/test.
