History

Lind’s Home Center opened on March

13th, 1973. This family-run business start-

ed because they wanted to help oth-

ers and they liked learning about new

tools.

5

Goods or Services?

Lind’s Home Center sells a lot of home

products like paint, wrenches, and

sinks. That makes them a goods busi-

Using Math

The people who work at Lind’s Home Cen-

ter use the cash register to count money.

They have to be able to count money

back to the customer. They have to know

how many of each product to order. They

also have to weigh nails and screws.

9

Reading and Writing

People who work at Lind’s Home Cen-

ter have to read the products so they

can put them on the right shelf. They

also have to read directions so they

know how to fix things. They write or-

ders so that they know what needs to

be fixed.

10

What If You Worked Here?

you would need to be friendly and

helpful. You would need to know your

products so that you could help the

customer.
