General
Would you like a property with an attractive exterior without needing to compromise on energy savings, sound insulation and fire safety? Lindab's sandwich panels are prefabricated building components that guarantee high quality and low costs. A wide range of surface profiles give you the opportunity to create a façade that suits your requirements and desires. Lindab sandwich panels have a insulation core of mineral wool with three different densities. Those three panel types have various advantages regarding fire resistance, thermal insula-tion, panel weight etc. Panels from dimension 150 mm are also
available with burglary protection. The outside and inside face of the panels consists of colour-coated steel sheet metal. Both faces are available with different kind of decorative profiles.
Panels with mineral wool achieves a very high fire performance. Lindab sandwich panels are fire tested and rated with refer-ence to their reaction to fire as well as their fire resistance. This is carried out through testing and classification according to standards SS-EN 13501, SS-EN 1363 and SS-EN 1364.

Burglary protection panels
MicroProfiling with 2 mm deep waves, repeted every 25 mm.
Profiles
Lindab burglary protected panels fulfills the requirements for resistance class 2 according to regulation SSF 200:3 – ”Rules for mechanical burglary protection”. These panels are unique on the market with built-in reinforcement bars that makes it very difficult to break through.
The solution is available with all combinations from dimension 150 mm and thicker. The reinforcement does not affect the general performance of the panel.
Lindab also holds a class 2 certificate for burglary protection panels without reinforcement bars from dimension 200 mm and thicker.
Acoustic panelsAcoustic panel intended for noise reduction indoors. Panels aimed for internal walls with one side fully perforated. Cannot be used as exterior wall!

Foil coating for food premises
Foodsafe is a foil coating used for interior walls and ceilings in food premises. Food premises can be commercial kitchens, charcuteries, cold storage etc. They require areas that are light, easy to clean and surfaces that does not emit harmful sub- stances to the food.
Foodsafe is a 150 μm thick polymer foil which is attached to the sheet metal. It’s non-toxic and resistant to mould. Further- more, it’s watertight, durable, easy to clean, chemically inert and approved for use in the same premises as unpackaged food stuff.
However, the foil cannot be used outdoors as it yellows in the sun’s UV light.
Stainless steel
Lindabs panels can be delivered in stainless steel. The stand-ard alloy is then 1.4301 with 2B surface. The panels are de-livered with a protective film that is removed during assembly. 1.4301 is an austenitic steel and contains chrome and nickel. It’s the most used stainless steel in the world and is a good choice for many applications in the industry, like car washes and within the food industry. Surface 2B indicates that it is a smoothly rolled semi-matt surface.
Fire Protection
Ordinary sandwich panels with a core of mineral wool is excel-lent to use as fire partition walls. However, in some cases the requirements on the fire protecting walls are a level higher than just to resist the actual fire. So-called firewalls also have to withstand mechanical impact during the fire. These type of walls has until now been reserved to heavier structures as for instance concrete walls. Lindab have recently developed a system with ordinary sandwich panels that also is able to meet the requirements for EI 90-M. The addition –M means that the wall can withstand a fire in 90 minutes and also manage the influence of impacts from heavy items falling against the wall.
Lindab can also offer technical solutions with sandwich panels to many other applications where fire protection is of crucial importance:
• External walls – up to EI 180• Internal walls – up to EI 180, EI 90-M• Interior ceilings – EI 60 (max 4,4 meter span)

Renovation PanelsLindab has developed a system with specially designed sandwich panels that can be used to make face lifts to older buildings with worn out facades. The installation of these pan-els are made in a different way compared to ordinary sandwich panels. Instead of making the fixation at the end of each panel, these are attached with continuous fixing rails along the hori-zontal joints. This makes it possible to use thin panels with a long distance between vertical joints. The result is façades with the same appearance as facades in new buildings.
Lindab Renovation panels is available in dimension 70, 100 and 120 mm and with the same colours and decorative sur-faces as ordinary sandwich panels.

Fasteners
Lindab can offer a complete range of fasteners aimed for use in different materials and in any environment.
All fasteners used to attach sandwich panels to the building structure is approved for use up to environmental class C4. Fasteners used for installation of flashings and other accesso-ries are also available.

Technical facts - sandwich wall panels
As the sun heats the outside of the panel, the outer metal sheet extends and the panel moves outwards. During the winter, when it’s colder outside than inside, the reverse is the case. For freely mounted panels, this movement has no direct load impact.

The temperature difference to take into account depends on the colour of the outer metal sheet. A light colour reflects more solar radiation than a dark one, and therefore does not become as hot.

Multiplication factors Ff for openings
Openings causes increased load on adjacent panels. The increased load can be taken into account by multiplying the wind load for the adjacent panels by a multiplication factor Ff
Ff depends on a number of typical cases shown below. Unless otherwise is stated, it has been assumed that the size of the opening in the breadth direction of the panel is bhole = 1.2 m
For smaller openings, the multiplication factor can be reduced to Ff = 1+0.35 bhole/bpanel where bpanel is the covering width of the panel = 1,2 m.
In addition, the panel joints must be able to cope with transfer- ring the shear force between panels. This is fulfilled if the design wind load before load increase is a maximum of 1.5 x (bpanel/ bhole) kN/m2. If the loads cannot be managed, the wall must be reinforced.
Openings leads to increased deformations of the panels, which in addition vary along the sides of the openings. This should be taken into account during the structural design process so that, for example, sensitive windows are not damaged.
Without reinforcement, the maximum recommended frame breadth for vertical panels and frame height for horizontal panels is bpanel.

Pilaster 1 is our most popular pilaster. It’s easy to erect and creates a visual division between the sandwich panels.
This corner flashing is used at the inner corners of the facades and has the same design as pilaster 1.

Pilaster 9 is designed with a shadow groove that runs down between the sandwich panels. The pilasters are fixed with fastening rails (P-PIL9FS) that conceals all the fasteners.
At the outer corner a pilaster similar to pilaster 9 is used. This one has a slightly lower shadow groove since it can’t be placed in a vertical panel joint. The corner flashing between the pilasters is either P-ELHO or P-ELHOW depending on which surface profile that is used.

Pilaster 11 is a very flat pilaster which are designed to fit the horizontal profiles of the sandwich panels. An observer will experience that the facade consists of continuous lines along the entire façade. This pilaster is only available together with sandwich panels profiled with 1200 Wide. The pilasters are fixed with fastening rails (P-PIL9FS) that conceals all the fasteners.
Pilaster 11 can also be used at the outer corners of the façade. The corner flashing between the pilasters is called P-ELHOW.

ECOSYLL Base rail ECOSYLLF Base rail high
P-SYLLB Base flashing
In order to reduce energy losses, this base rail is slotted. It can be used for wall thickness 150 mm and upwards and when the sandwich panels are installed horizontally. This rail require that the concrete base is retracted about 15 mm from the face of the facade. If the concrete base is not retracted, use base rail ECOSYLLF instead.

Compared to ECOSYLL this base rail is higher and shall always be supplemented with 20 mm extra insulation in the bottom of the rail.
P-SYLLB is a base flashing that can be attached by hooking it on the base rail and thus completely free from visible fasteners. The dimensions of the base flashing are adaptable and can be combined with a mounting bracket (SFBL) to improve stability.

This trim flashing is painted white and can be used as a base rail for vertically installed internal walls or for covering frames and wall closures. It can also be used as a base rail for horizontally installed exterior walls when ECOSYLL or ECOSYLLF for some reason can’t be used. In that case a visibly fixed Base flashing must be mounted on the external side of the wall.
This fascia flashing is installed together with parapet flashing P-KRONB2.
This parapet flashing is installed together with fascia flashing P-KRONB1. Predrilled holes are placed at one of the ends of each flashing to achieve joints that can manage temperature movements.
