Unique Features of AVI3000AVI3000 is a state of the art test system designed from the ground up to provide optimum and cost efficient capabilites to a wide spectrum of users.In particular AVI3000 offers the following unique features:

Single Benchtop equipmentMan transportable generator for easy movement in the test lab or on aircraft installations.

Full Compliance systemPIN Injection waveforms and impedances are all calibrated using the open circuit voltage and short circuit current method.

Cable Bundle waveforms are calibrated at the EUT injection point. Couplers and de-couplers are all part of the test system.

Synchronization of TransientsDO-160 section 22, requires that PIN Injection waveforms are synchronized to the peak of AC power applied to the LRU.

One Coupler for ALL WaveformsLatest technology in coupling transformer core materials enables all Cable Bundle transient pulses to be applied through a single transformer.

Single Turn CouplerA coupler aperture of 6cm x 6cm allows large diameter cables to be tested. Cable only need to pass once through the core to achieve full Level 3 treat.

MIL-STD-461 CS117

Requirements for the Control of Electromagnetic Interference Characteristics of Sub Systems and Equipment. Test CS117, conducted susceptibility, lightning induced transients, cables and power leads. CS117 is limited to tests using Multiple Stroke (MS) and Multiple Burst (MB) only.

Internal Equipment TestsAVI3000 fulfills all the requirements for Internal Equipment with a safety criti-cal function. As well as application on Aircraft, these tests can be applied to Ship borne equipment located above deck. The test levels equate to DO-160 section 22 Level 3.

Internal Equipment waveforms in CS117 are Waveform 1,3,5A and 6.

AVI3000 system delivers all CS117 waveforms for Internal Equipment. All waveshapes and amplitudes are guaranteed at the EUT interface with the test system.

Multiple Stroke & Multiple Burst

MIL-STD-461 CS117 tests are applied as Multiple Stroke (MS) and Multiple Burst (MS) events. AVI3000 is unique in incorporating all these transient types into a single generator.

Subsequent Strokes in a Multiple Stroke sequence are freely programmable to adjust the amplitudes to match the CS117 requirement of 25% from the first stroke.

Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment. Section 22 Lightning Induced Transient Susceptibility, describes a variety of impulse based tests using waveforms derived from practical experience.

PIN Injection TestsTo test the voltage breakdown resistance of an LRU interface. Accomplished by direct connection from the transient generator to connector pins on the LRU being tested. Waveforms are defined with fixed impedances, calculated from the open circuit voltage divided by short circuit current.

PIN Injection waveforms in DO-160 Section 22 are Waveform 3, 4 & 5A.

AVI3000 system delivers all PIN Injection waveforms up to Level 3.

Decoupling of AC and DC voltages is built into AVI3000.

Functional Upset TestsTo test susceptibility of an LRU to disturbance signals coupled into connect-ing cables. Transients are introduced into cable bundles by use of a coupling transformer. AVI3000 system uses one coupling transformer for all cable bundle waveforms.

Cable bundle waveforms in DO-160 Seciton 22 are Waveforms, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5A & 6.

AVI3000 system with CN-BT7 coupler delivers all waveforms up to Level 3.

A Single Coupler Solution

Many cable bundles are too large to be coiled through the coupling transformers. Ca-bles up to 6cm diameter pass straight through the EMC PARTNER CN-BT7 coupler.

CN-BT7Clever design means no turns on the transformer secondary.

Existing steel and ferrite coupling transformers saturate under high energy conditions, necessitating large couplers with more material to delay saturation. CN-BT7 uses a revolutionary material with extreme energy handling capabili-ties. Impulse amplitudes can easily be achieved without multiple winding of the EUT cable. Large diameter cables and short lengths are no problem for CN-BT7.
