First the helicase comes to split the DNA strand apart.

Then the helicase starts to split the strand and the single Stranded binding proteins join to keep the strands from comingback together.

Single Stranded Binding Proteins

Leading Strand

Lagging Strand

After the strand is split the primase gives the leading strand a starting point.

Then the polymerase III comes along to replicate.

However, while the leading strand replicates the lagging strand is also replicating. First theRNA primase creates RNA primers which gives polymerase III a starting point

RNA primase

RNA primer

Polymerase III begins to replicate and the segments of DNA are called okasaki fragments

After replication is done within the space Polymerase I turns the RNA into DNA

The ligase then comes and creates phosphodiester bonds between the fragments of DNA

Phosphodiester bond

Two new strands of DNA are created as the process is completed!
