It was shear bravery and a pair of brass cojones that lead each and every Pipe Master pioneering (and careening) into the “Wild West” of an unrecognized sport. They knew that they had to first change the World in order to be acknowledged as pro-surfers. For some, it was simply a matter of showing up and being the best. Their reward, if the fates looked kindly on them, was a steady rise to a life that led to global adventures, lifetime friendships, and successful start-ups - most notably the establishment of Lightning Bolt as the World’s first surf lifestyle brand.The Bolt Man of Spring/Summer 2014 is one who remembers his history and leads full stride, past the bright horizon, into the deep shadowy unknown. It is through this journey he understands that Paradise is as subjective as the man who is washed upon its shores – and that it rarely endures. Each man’s Paradise is a moveable feast, one that is found and lost through the generations.This season Lightning Bolt is proud to introduce Paradise Lost and Found – our most impressive men’s collection to date. 2014 is a wild cacophony of stylized heritage full of brightly printed yarns, stone washed twills, the softest blends of jersey tees and classically inspired board shorts. Think brilliant blues, lush greens, and popping fruits and florals all mixed in with a variety deconstructed fabrics alluding to the ruined and run-down. The inherent cycle of virility and decomposition have been spun together in a single season.Our buddies Christian, Tawney, Shane, and Laura are out to discover a possible Paradise. What they will find is unclear. All they know is that without action there is no legacy. That is why they keep on moving, dreaming, and believing that the journey itself is the true spark of Aloha spirit.
