The enemy fired at me. The echo of the shot sounded huge in the forest. I leapt back behind the tree. The cold October air drifted into my jacket. I shivered from the cold air. I heard the enemy reloading, and I took the opportunity to fire back; I jumped out from behind the tree and fired my lasers at him. I shot towards the enemy, but he leaped back, fully reloaded and not even hurt a bit. I leaned forward and shot a few blasts. Blam! One of the shots hit his gun! He shot back to retaliate. My hand slowly crept toward a button on my laser gun. I pushed it. “Shield activated,” said a mechanic voice as I stepped out from behind the tree. My enemy’s eyes widened. He fired helplessly at my gun but the shield reflected the blasts. He spun around and ran. I chased after him. I fired randomly, and saw that most missed but some connected and hit his gun. I chased after him, running along a rocky path, there were trees on either side, but suddenly, another enemy stepped out from behind the bushes. This one was bigger than the other one. I turned around quickly, and ran once I saw him. My other enemy wasn’t so lucky… The hard stones crunched under my shoes as I ran away. The mechanic voice announced, “Shield offline.” Behind me, I heard laser shots. The other ones were enemies with each other too! I heard the smaller one running back. I hid behind a water barrel and when I heard the enemy nearby, I stepped out, and shot at him. He didn’t even have time to flinch. Blam! Blam! Blam! Three shots hit their mark. But he was quick; he brought his gun up and delivered a blast right into the front of my gun. My gun sizzled but it was okay. When I turned around and started to run, the other enemy appeared around the corner, it was utter chaos. There were laser gun sounds everywhere. They were giving all they got, and so was I. But I couldn’t continue like this forever. I ran off into the opposite way while they shot at me. They were still firing at each other when I hid behind a car. The metal was icy. When I leaned up against it to take a breath, I felt an object like a hand, it scratched my jacket. I whipped around, it was a… branch. A lonely branch came out from the side of the tree behind me. I sighed with relief. My hot breath made mist in the air. I sat down on the ground. But then I heard the sound of feet smashing the ground hard. I looked to the right and saw the smaller enemy running down the lane followed by the bigger one! I decided to shoot at the bigger one. I crouched down and carefully took

aim. I fired rapidly. He realized that I was firing at him. He wheeled around and fired at me while the smaller enemy kept running, obviously thinking that we were firing at him. I kept firing at the larger enemy. He started to run away. I jumped out from behind the car. I chased after him, sending blasts soaring around him. He sometimes spun around and fired at me. But none of them hit their mark, but some of my shots connected. That’s enough I thought; I turned around, and raced back. However, my enemy realized that I wasn’t chasing him anymore and he start to chase me! I ran along, every once in a while, I shot back over my shoulder to retaliate. But then I saw the smaller enemy. He was hiding behind a water storage unit, with his head peeking out from behind the edge. He quickly hid again. I ran past. But then the enemy tailing me turned and attacked the small enemy. I kept running until I was sure they weren't shooting at me, then I turned around and slowly approached while firing. Laser blasts issued from the front of my gun. They both turned and were so surprised that they weren’t able to react until I shot the smaller enemy’s gun so much that it broke down. He fled instantly. The other one pressed a button on his gun. I heard a robotic voice say “Shield activated.” I turned around and ran. I already knew that his shield would protect him. He followed me, shooting all the while at me. But then, something great happened to me. My gun announced, “Shield available.” I quickly pressed my shield button. It repeated the same thing as before. “Shield activated.” I spun around and rapid fired at my enemy’s gun. My blasts slowly wore down his shield while his shot’s did the same thing to me. “Shield offline.” His gun announced. His gun sizzled from the rest of the blasts. His gun died. It shuddered and went out with a small mechanic moan. But yes! I won! “Nice job Jacob” said my friend Mark, (the enemy) taking off his hood. My brother, Miles, (The other enemy), came out from behind a tree. “How come you always win?!?” complained Miles. “I dunno, I’m lucky and quick, I guess…” I replied. “Ok, lets do that again.” Said Mark. We all shouted “Ok!” and ran in opposite directions, ready for another Lightstrike game.
