At the age of 16, Pi has to leave India for Canada and everything he loves except his family, behind

One night, The ship his family is on, sinks and Pi escapes on a Life Boat with A Zebra, Richard Parker and A Hyena. Only Pi and Richard Parker survive

After floating on for many weeks, Pi and Richard Parker finally find an island full of Meerkats. Pi and Richard Parker soon discover the island is carnivorous, and that they must leave if they want to survive

Finally, they reach land (Mexico) just days before death by starvation. Pi is saved by locals, but is saddened at Richard Parkers ‘informal’ leaving.

While Pi recovers at the hospital, two men from the Japanese ship company come to ask questions about the ships sinking. Pi doesn’t know, so he tells them his adventure, but in a more understandable way to humans.
