CCMCF NOVEMBER VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH: CAROL MILLER

In 2010, Carol began bringing her Samoyed dogs to CCMCF after receiving a request for pet therapy. The request came in at the perfect time, as Carol had recently retired. For the past 9 years, Carol and her friendly dogs, Crystal and Annie, have visited our residents every week. When asked what she enjoys most about volunteering here at CCMCF, she replied, “Visiting with residents, family, and staff. The smiles I see when the residents are petting Crystal and Annie is rewarding.” Carol has one daughter and 3 granddaughters. She is a retired teacher and administrator and spent the majority of her career as a reading specialist. Besides teaching, Carol has also kept busy raising and training Samoyeds for the past 43 years! In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with family, participating in dog events, and helping in the nursery at church. We are so thankful Carol and her dogs spend their time with us at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility and at Marian E. Burch Adult Day Care. Thank you, Carol, Crystal and Annie for the time and devotion you give to our residents!

Bingo Assistants:

Monday or Thursdays

1:50-3:00 pm in the Community Center

Friendly Visitors:

Visit with residents in our home

Holiday Bazaar Assistants:

Thurs. Nov. 21st 9:00am-4:00pm and/or

Fri. Nov. 22nd 9:00am-2:00pm

Assist residents with shopping needs during our

Holiday Bazaar

Family members are WELCOME to sign up as a

volunteer and assist with outings and activities.
