It was great to see so many applicants for all these positions and knowing that we have so many students who want to see Fish Creek Primary School be the best it can be. All students at our school show leadership and have the chance to be leaders. Being a leader is not just wearing a badge, it is about being a good friend, helping others and showing respect and manners to each other and always trying your best in any situation. I feel at Fish Creek we have 110 leaders in our school with all our students demonstrating these traits. The School Council Election period has begun and we now call for nominations. Nominations must be received in the office by 4 pm on 7th March. The role is not that time consuming, but does involve a commitment to participate regularly and making important decisions about priorities and policies for the school. Please see the attached insert for more information about school Council. If you have any questions, please talk to me or an existing councillor. Our current School Council consists of Brad Gale as President, Fleur Stefani as Vice President, and parent representatives Howard Prosser, Claire Buckland, Gerard Delaney, Megan Vuillermin, Ron Taylor, Rachel Sands and Richard Gange. Life Education is about promoting healthy and safe choices for all our students. This year our students have had the following lessons: Preps: Harolds Friendships: This lesson looks at how to build friendships and care for others as well as feelings and emotions 1/2: Safety Rules: Students look at how to recognise safe and unsafe environments and how to care for others. 3,4,5: Bcyberwise: Has a focus on responsible and respectful behaviour when using communication technology and skills for building positive relationships with friends. 5/6: Relate, Respect, Connect: Students look how to respect ourselves and others and identifying characteristics of positive relationships. Contact Details Just a reminder that if you have changed address or phone numbers, then the office needs to be notified in writing. Uniforms/Lunch Containers Please make sure ALL items of clothing and any food container that you might send into school are labelled so we can return them if they are found in the playground. Corner Inlet Stingrays Information & Training Day Wednesday 20th February 2019 4.30pm Foster Football Oval Come for a kick and a catch up with other Stingray players whilst Mum or Dad gather all the information they need. I am so excited to announce the JSC team for 2019. These students were up against some pretty tough competition. They proved themselves with impressive public speaking skills and ideas to improve our school and make it an even better place to be. I cannot wait to help implement these ideas with our weekly committee meetings, so keep an eye out for our progress. Also, if you have any ideas please feel free to pass them along to any of our representatives to share at our meetings. Thank you. I am Maya and I am in the Junior School Council. I am very thankful for the opportunity. I am looking forward to helping people in need and doing lots of fundraising. Hi I am Lily G. and I am so excited to be the Grade 5 JSC Representative. I am looking forward to thinking up good ideas and helping fundraise for our school and other causes. Hi. My name is Leticia and I am the Grade 4 JSC. I am looking forward to being the JSC again. My name is Owen and this year I am very happy that I am a JSC member. I am excited to be planning changes for the school. The ideas I have are umbrellas and raincoats in every classroom. A mini Olympics and a school fete to raise money for the school. Hi. My name is Annie. I am so excited to help the school. Hi. My name is Mieka and I am looking forward to helping the school and I want no littering at the school.

Essential Student Leaning Items and Accounts Essential Learning Items will be $170 per student for 2019. Our Parent Payment Policy is on our website and we encourage you all to read this policy. If you have any questions please speak to Irene. Accounts have gone home with students today. There appears to be a fault in our emailing system at the moment, so apologies if you received a statement via email as well as the hardcopy.

PNF meet and greet On Monday (18/02/18) our PnF will be having there first meeting for the year straight after Monday morning assembly. The PnF do an amazing job for our school raising money for school equipment and assisting in excursions for the entire school. If you are new to the school it is a great way to get involved in the school community.

Bookclub Bookclub went home today. Orders due back next Friday
