The Hon. David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will today pay tribute to the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) during a reception at the Lieutenant Governor’s Suite. Honoured guest include Claude Joli-Coeur, Acting Government Film Commissioner and Chairperson for the NFB, Anita Lee, Executive producer for the NFB’s Ontario Centre, Katerina Cizek, director of the NFB multi-media project Highrise, as well as many other notable filmmakers, producers and artists. Founded by documentary film pioneer John Grierson, the National Film Board of Canada is a world-renowned cultural institution that has nurtured and supported excellence in Canadian cinematic talent. Board filmmakers have won countless national and international awards, including 12 Oscars. Its remains a vital cultural institution, evolving with new media and film technology to create exciting and significant work. Media opportunity Who: The Hon. David C.
