Lot 51 Fall Bull

Lienemann Cattle Co. Welcomes You
Fellow cattlemen, We would like to welcome your evaluation of the 2015 Lienetics
bulls to sell on March 8th. It is satisfying to see the continued de-
mand in the marketplace for all types of cattle, and the advantages
of high quality cattle with the additional strength and traits to
profit producers. Congratulations to our many past customers that
we have seen set all time sale$ topping records with their Lienetics
sired cattle, and the feed-back they have provided regarding the
consistent quality, performance, and convenience traits these ge-
netics avail. We welcome new customers to see how an investment
in optimum performance Angus Bulls can add significant value to
your program.
These yearling bulls offered will go out and work for you. They are
designed with extra thickness, performance, carcass merit, and are
structurally sound with good dispositions. It is our goal to develop
these bulls to keep your investment “in-condition” while breeding.
If you feel you need an older bull to cover larger groups, our pro-
gram has developed aged fall born bulls for your review as lots 51-
57. in this catalog, we have provided what we feel are the basic
performances traits necessary to make informed purchases and
breeding decisions. Other EPD’s and Values are also individually
available in the Angus database. If desired, please lets us know or
go online to www.angus.org, and view the complete performance
pedigree.
Bulls are produced by females with function and performance in an
environment of minimal inputs that include early spring and sum-
mer grass (no creep), fall and winter residue grazing, and hay in
the months of February (minimal days), March and April. They are
continually required to perform effectively and efficiently in a low
input environment and with minimal intervention. Constant selec-
tion pressure for these right type genetics will allow us to always
meet and most likely far exceed your expectations with your genet-
ic purchase. Progeny that don’t meet our high standards are sort-
ed and sent to the feedlot for additional evaluation and herd im-
provements.
Additionally, and although they don’t get to sit on the sidelines for
the rest of the year, and are expect to breed back with the herd
ics through our Embryo Transfer program. These exceptional
genetics are presented through the catalog as full brothers and
can be utilized to add sire group consistency to programs, or find
that very elite animal for your program.
The progressive and optimum genetics offered will increase prof-
its at all levels of production.

We believe in our program, in our
customers, and in our combined abil-
ity to provide the best quality beef
product available in the world with
complete consumer satisfaction. We
intend to fulfill that belief through our genetics which take low
input resources provided by solar energy, and convert it to the
most premium protein product in the world, as well as the most
satisfying eating experience available to the consumer. This is
achieved through the continual improvement of our Angus ge-
netics through acquisitions, selection pressure for phenotype and
genotype, AI & ET technology, DNA EPD enhancement, and our
feeding program which allows us to measure and appraise actual
performance, efficiency, and carcass merit of our raised animals
and those produced by our bull genetics in our customer cattle. If
you have Lienetics sired cattle to sell, please let us know, and we
will do our best to participate, own, or find additional buyers to

cross pedigree for today's cattlemen. He can be used on
daughters of nearly every popular sire in the industry today.

extensively n commercial and purebred heifers with great re-
sults. The calves are born light, vigorous and unassisted. They
grow well and make good replacement females.

Optimum Impact is the greatest Angus sire in the history of our pro-

structurally and phenotypically ideal with a big hip, strong top, and
plenty of rib. He is a proven performance sire with the high indexing
son in 2012 at MBT. This optimum power bull had a birth weight of 78
lb. but turned in weaning and yearling ratios of 111 and 110 respective-
ly. He is also strong for marbling and ribeye values and has a $Beef
value in the top 10% of the breed. Let this powerful stock bull have an

Exponential Impact by Nicole Lane
What do you get when a researcher and a CPA decide to buy
6 registered Angus cows?
Well twenty years later Trevor and Torri Lienemann of
Princeton, Neb., have four kids, a 300-cow seedstock operation
and lots and lots of data.
It was the numbers that Trevor had never been able to see
before in cattle that helped them quickly multiply their cowherd.
The more he learned about cattle, the more their operation grew
until 2008 he quit the day job to become a full-time, first-
generation cattle rancher.
“Being called the business breed and being a CPA, the two
meshed very well,” says Torri.
Not having a background in Angus or cattle, Trevor became a
student of the business and the breed. Once he learned something
he yearned to share it with his bull customers. But not until the
data had been verified, of course.
While he says they were in their “rookie season” for the first
10 years, Trevor longed to be able to feed out his cattle to validate
his ultrasound data. When corn reached $7 per bushel he took the
plunge and started a customer buyback program.
His commitment to numbers paid off. His first group of fed
cattle earned 65% Certified Angus Beef® acceptance, and his cus-
tomer-bought cattle earned 35% CAB with the whole group grad-
ing 100% Choice.
A seedstock producer who concentrates on the end product,
Trevor works hard to help his customers maintain the same vi-
sion.
“We work to help our commercial guys realize that their cus-
tomer isn’t the sale barn where they deliver their cattle; their cus-
tomer is the consumers in the grocery store and the retail outlets
for beef,” says Trevor.
The buyback program brings it full circle for this family. Tre-
vor admits that if he could collect data on the eating quality of the
steaks his cattle produce, he would gladly apply that to his herd
selections, too.
“We realize our effect on the industry is exponential through
our bull sales. When you start doing the math on selling 50 bulls a
year that will breed 25 cows per year and last about four years,
you are starting to effect a lot of individual carcasses out there,”
says Trevor.
“And a lot of eating experiences, too,” his daughter Maci
adds.
What started with just six cows, now affects an immeasurable
number of meals – and the Lienemanns are working hard to make
sure those eating experiences are top quality.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Maci Lienemann, top undergraduate award winner, sees a sustainable U.S. beef herd as the keystone. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln junior wrote, “Our industry must begin capitalizing on current industry advancements, in addition to developing and initiating new innovative practices that will enable us to produce the kind of nutritional sustenance necessary to feed an ever growing global population.”

Lienemann Cattle Co. is proud to participate
and excel in the Midland Bull Test (MBT) and
Sale, the “Granddaddy of Performance Test-
ing” at Columbus, MT. Only the best come to
participate, and with typically over 800 Angus
bulls from all over the nation competing for
high honors, this has been the ultimate test of
our genetics and their place in the beef indus-
try and the world today.
This is the 10th year we will be part of the
great Midland tradition. Past success includes
4th High Gain Sire Group, and 6th Overall
Bull for gain, and 2012 Champion ADG bull.
Bulls having went to distinguished purebred
operations such as Winding River, Vermillion
Ranches, Wagonhammer Ranches, Whitestone
Krebs, and others.
This year we are offering three optimum per-
formance bull prospects on that sale, April 4th,
2015. (lot 97, 98, 99) If you have further inter-
est in these bulls, contact Trevor or MBT or

All natural protein supplement for heifers, brood cows, stocker cattle and horses.
SweetPro 16 protein supplement is designed for the essential forti-
fication of heifers, brood cow, stocker cattle and goat requirements for vitamins A, D and E plus protein, cal-cium, phosphorus and trace elements including seleni-um. Daily intake will vary depending on forage quality and nutritional needs.
SweetPro blocks improve calving and clean-up. Strong-er calves pay bigger dividends. SweetPro blocks are an effective tool to improve breed-back. Organic com-plexed (chelated) minerals plus extra energy are known to improve first service conception rates. Using SweetPro blocks at weaning reduces calf weight loss by reducing weaning stress and cows consistently wean heavier, “growthy” calves without risk of dis-

EPDs and $Values We have the following abbreviations throughout this book with re-gard to EPDs and actual data. $ Values are expressed in terms of real dollars for a combination of related traits.
Expected Progeny Difference (EPD), is the prediction of how future progeny of each animal are expected to perform relative to the progeny of other ani-mals listed in the database. EPDs are expressed in units of measure for the
trait, plus or minus. Remember, no EPD is an absolute. It simply allows you to compare genetic differences in sires.
$Value indexes, are multi-trait selection indexes to assist beef producers by adding simplicity to genetic selection decisions. The $Value is an estimate of how future progeny of each sire are expected to perform, on average, com-pared to progeny of other sires in the database if the sires were randomly mated to cows and if calves were exposed to the same environment.
BW Birth Weight, expressed in pounds, is a predictor of the animals ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny Compared to that of other sires
WW Weaning Weight, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit weaning growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
Milk Influence of the dam, due to her milking ability, on weaning weight, expressed in pounds of calf weaned.
YW Yearling Weight, expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny compare to other sires
MARB Expressed as a fraction of the difference USDA marbling score of a sire’s progeny compared to others
REA Ribeye area, expressed in square inches, and a given end point comparatively
FAT Fat thickness, expressed in inches, at a given end point
CW Expressed in pounds, a predictor of the differences in hot carcass weight of a sires progeny comparatively
$W
In dollars per head, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for pre-weaning merit, and includes both revenue and cost adjustments in BW, WW, Milk, and Mature cow size
$B In dollars per head, it is the expected average difference in progeny performance for post weaning and carcass value compared to progeny of other sires
Adj WW Actual weaning weight adjusted to a common number of days(205) for proper comparison of individuals
$F In $/per head, the expected averaged difference in fu-ture progeny for postweaning merit compared to other sires
CE
My combined calving ease scoring based on production history : **** Recommend any heifers *** Recommend heifers with large frame or monitor ** Recommend on cows for performance * Extra BW similar to Exotic or Crossbred bulls
CED Is expressed as a difference in the % of unassisted births of a sire when mated to first calf heifers.
