1. Project description Green Hydro is a hydrogen generator that is designed to save

fuel in a car. It uses the principle of electrolysis to break‐up the

water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. These gases are

piped directly into the car engine to enhance the combustion

and thus save fuel by 15%.

More importantly, we also want to rope in the general public to

play a role in fighting global warming. Hence, for every Green

Hydro that we installed into our customer’s car, we shall plant

a tree in his name.

Our computer system allows the donor to see his tree real‐

time. Over the years as the tree grows, he is also able to tracks

the conversion of CO2

In this project, we shall engage the blind community to assist us

to coordinate the installation of the gadget into the customer’s car and planting of the trees.

To make it even easier for customer to commit with us, we shall provide ease payment scheme through

zero% interest monthly installments. Installing this fuel saver does not hurt the customer’s pocket at all

because the saving from the fuel is good enough to pay for this gadget.

3. The Market The heads of government from various countries met in Copenhagen Denmark at the end of last year

to discuss this disturbing issue. The rich and industrialized nation is supposed to compensate the

poorer nation for causing this mess. They have suggested paying equivalent to the amount of USD20b

for green technology which will be built in these un‐developed nations. The summit lasted 2 weeks

without any conclusion. None of these rich nations is willing to foot the bill. Nothing good came out of

it. In fact the Minister of Environment of Denmark took the blow and resigned just before the summit

closed for business.

There was also finger pointing amongst rich countries to foot the bill. It also ended in bad taste when

delegates of China walked off the summit half way. Without having interest to discuss further. You can

I don’t think we can see any lights in the near future. But I realized, while we wait for world leaders to

come to their senses, we as caring citizen of the world can also play a role. No matter how small we

are, we can make the difference.

Hence, I take upon myself as an inventor to create this Green Hydro to save fuel. It reduces the

emission of carbon dioxide into the air. It saves fuel, thus reduces usage of fossil oil. It saves money for

the user. I’ll plant a tree in his name. The tree turns carbon dioxide into fresh air.

My plan is to get as many people as possible to share my vision to fight global warming. Hence, each

4. Positive Impact

We all know that each and every one of us is responsible for emitting about 10 tons of carbon dioxide

(CO2) into the air each year. But to offset that emission, we need to pant a lot of trees. I’ve written an

Green Hydro : Less emission of CO2

There are certainly many ways to tackle

climate changes. We could develop more

green technology. We could cut down

consumption of meat. We could use less

paper.

We

could

cycle

to

work.

We

could

switch off the lights for an hour every day. We

could do so many more things.

But in my case, I’ve invented this Green Hydro

that saves fuel in a car, thus less emission of

CO2 into the atmosphere. And by using less

fuel, we also saving the energy and carbon

emission that comes along during the production of petrol fuel from fossil oil.

Plant a Tree

Choosing to plant trees is my choice in this

project. I feel it’s a natural thing to do and

it has direct impact that brings benefit to

the problem we faced today. More

importantly I hope to bring the awareness

to the general public.

By planting trees in the donor’s name, we

are getting them involved in this noble

cause of fighting global warming.

http://www.pokokhydro.com/ You will note that we have called our product Pokok Hydro. This is part

our marketing strategy. We branded our product “Pokok Hydro” for the Malaysian market, while

“Green Hydro” is for foreign market.

By the way the word “Pokok” in Malaysian national language means “Tree”. What we want to drive to

our customer is that for every hydrogen generator they buy from us, we shall plant a pokok (tree) in

their name.

This website is specially design for this business and it will eventually provide all the necessary

information about the project and it cause in fighting global warming. It shall also carry detail

information

about

the

fuel

saving

gadget

and

the

science

behind

it.

Customers can also purchase the unit online. And more importantly track his tree real time and

monitor how much carbon his tree has absorbed.

Later on in the project I’ll build a computer system on my portal where the donor can get to see the

tree that they have donated. I’ll use Google map to navigate, so that the proud owner can see the

actual tree. So, over the years later, he can actually see the tree grow taller and bigger.

Calculator to see conversion of CO2 to Oxygen

I’ll also create a formula on the website to calculate the estimated amount of carbon dioxide his tree

has converted the CO2 into fresh oxygen. The scientists and expert at FRIM will assist me in formulating

this formula.

Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM)

We have approached FRIM and had a few good

discussions. When we told them about our

program of planting trees, they welcome us with

open arms. In fact, FRIM already have such

program with other corporate on planting trees.

Companies currently involved in planting trees

at FRIM are Shell, Hong Leong Bank, Federal

Express and etc.

FRIM will charge us a fee for every tree planted.

The tree planted shall be at least 1 meter tall.

FRIM is also responsible to maintain the tree and

make sure they grow.

FRIM provide guarantee that for every tree planted will survive. Should the tree dies, FRIM will replant

another new tree without any cost to us. There is already a designated area within FRIM for planting

these trees.

Every tree will be tagged. The serial number of the tree will be the same serial number on the Green

Hydro. Here it also gives the donor an opportunity to visit his tree whenever he like. He and his family

can have a family day at FRIM while enjoying the natural forest.

Engaging the Blind Community

Once the customer has placed an order on our

portal, the website notifies our staffs as well as the

Malaysia Association of Blind (MAB). In this project

we intent to engage the blind people. We shall pay

MAB a fee for every order processed. Here it gives

employment to this group of un‐fortunate people.

The blind person picks‐up the phone and co‐

ordinate the installation of the Green Hydro at the

nearest workshop in the vicinity of the customer’s

house or office.

There is already existing software for the blind folks to use computers. We just need to in‐corporate

our system onto their system. More about MAB here

Engaging the workshop for installation

Once the appointment has been arranged for the designated customer to drive his car to a specific

workshop and at a specific allotted time for the installation of the gadget, my team also gets an “order”

in the computer system to deliver a new Green Hydro to the designated workshop for this purpose.

We shall approach Automotive Association of Malaysia (AAM) to accredit their members’ workshop to

install this Green Hydro onto our customer’s car. A fee will be paid to the workshop for the installation

work.

I will be going round to these workshops to provide the

technical training on how to install the gadget onto a car.

Which I don’t foresee any problem because the

installation is simple and does not require any special

tools

or

special

know‐

how.

AAM has accredited workshop through‐out the country.

Hence, my business too can reach to every town in the

country.



Improve the ecological system

As we plant more trees, we also create homes to

the insects, birds and animals. It will improve the

entire ecological system which has been badly

affected by deforestation.

It doesn’t hurt the customer

Assume you drive a 1.5 liter Proton Wira, and let’s say your monthly petrol bill is RM 600 per month

before installing a Green Hydro. In this case, you should be able to recover the cost of installing a Green

Hydro in abt13 months.

Therefore, the saving from the fuel is enough to pay for the cost of installing a Green Hydro. His return

Using a conservative sales of one unit a day and 30 units a month, our profits is about RM10,000 a

month. If the sales can be increased to 10 units a day, our profits will go‐up to RM 100,000a month.

And the profit goes‐up when our sales goes‐up accordingly.

Collaborators

Main collaborators we shall approach for this project is the Ministry of Science, Technology and

Innovation (MOSTI), Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), The Malaysian Nature Society (MNS)

and Automotive Association of Malaysia (AAM)

I have strong relationship with MOSTI and FRIM where I

don’t see any problem in getting their approval to be our

collaborator for this project. By having MOSTI and FRIM is

our profile, I think we will be able to convince MNS and

AAM to come in.

Business Partners

We have in mind to approach some large corporations to be our business partners. These corporations

have a Corporate Service Responsibility (CSR) to the public. Thus, we want to get them in our program

of planting trees. We shall tight‐up the business of installing Green Hydro for their customers. The

approach for each every corporation is unique because each business is different. Therefore, we shall

discuss this matter in detail when the time arrive. However, we already have some plans thought‐out

for the following corporations;‐

Petronas, UEM, Bank Rakyat, Federal Express, Air Asia, Giant and MPH.



Media Partners

To give our project an effective coverage, we shall seek partner with the media. We shall approach

New Strait Time as our print media partner and ASTRO as our electronic media partner.

Summary of Benefit that this project brings

Kindly let us summarized the direct impact of our project to the environment

1. Saves 15% of fuel

Each car that is installed with a Green Hydro will cut usage of

fossil oil by 15%. This mean 15% less of carbon dioxide is

emitted into the atmosphere. We get cleaner air.

2. Plant a tree

For each Green Hydro that is installed onto a car, we’ll plant a

tree in the donor’s name. The tree converts the carbon

dioxide into oxygen through photosynthesis. We get fresh air.

3. Public awareness

When we plant a tree in the customer’s name, he plays a direct role in fighting global warming.

He will be proud owner of the tree and he knows he has played a direct role in fighting global

warming. This will encourage him to tell his friends and we hope to there will be a snowball

effect. So that more people are aware of the climate change and do something to stop it, like

planting a tree.

4. Improve ecological system

When more trees are planted, carbon dioxide is taken off in‐replace with fresh air. When these

trees are planted, insects and animal also find new homes and improves the ecological system.

Insects and animal will also bring benefit to human race too.

5. An Winning Idea

The Green Hydro saves fuel for your car. Customer need not fork‐out money because the saving

from the fuel is enough to pay for this unit. We also provide monthly installment, thus making it

easy for customer to commit with us.

Ordinary people can play a role in fighting global warming. We shall plant a tree in his name when

he buys a Green Hydro from us. Our computer system allows the person to track his tree on his

computer at the convenient. Watching his tree growing taller and bigger over the years makes him

a proud contributor of clean air.

Installing the gadget is easy. It can be carried out by mechanics in normal workshops. This Green

Hydro uses water. Ordinary tap water is sufficient to create hydrogen for the car. It is safe to use.

Minimum maintenance is required. Will not bring harm to the car if he forgets to top‐up water.

Planting tree is a good habit. It converts CO2 directly into oxygen. It creates small streams and hold

water. It brings all sorts of lives back to nature in the woods and rivers. It makes this world a

better.

This project also gives the blind community a chance to participate in this good cause and at the

same time earn a small wages.

This business is a commercially viable. And this business model can be duplicated in other cities

around the world. As long as there are cars in the city, there is an opportunity to install a Green

Hydro and plant a tree.
