Welcome to Commack High School Library
LIBRARY USAGE

Library Procedures…
Hours: We are open from 7:00 until 3:30.
Please sign in at circulation desk whenever
you plan to stay in the library during school
hours.
Study Hall and Lunch Passes
You must have a Library Pass to visit the
library during Lunch and Study Hall
periods.
Both Lunch and Study Hall passes are
distributed in the library.
Please pick up your Lunch and Study Hall
passes the day of, or the day before, the
period you wish to visit the library.
As in all public areas of our school, eating of any kind is
prohibited in the library.
There will be no eating at the library tables, or at the
computers.
Students who eat in the library will be given a warning
at the first offence, and will be written up thereafter.
Fire & Emergency Safety
We exit together out of the library.
Walk through the cafeteria and wait on the
grassy area of the parking lot.
Stay together and wait quietly for the signal
to return.

Fiction books are located under the
windows of the library in alphabetical
order by the author’s last name.

Biography - located in the middle of
the library in alphabetical order by
subject – in other words, the person
the book is about.
Non-fiction = Most Everything Else

Non-fiction – located in the tall
stacks in back, contains true
information and facts.
Today’s Goals:
1. Create an account in DESTINY.
2. Identify call numbers and corresponding
materials.
3. Reactivate your NoodleTools account.
4. If time allows, search for a book of
choice or for class.

& CREATING AN ACCOUNT
Type in your last name and student
ID number. The barcode number
is your student ID number.
Choose a user name and password that
you will remember. (We suggest you use
your student ID number as your
password).

Add a List, and name
it, ex. “Reading List” or
a research topic name.
